Part of what makes Gore’s rages against the machine such clown shows is that to establish any level of credibility Al must first get the audience to forget that he is the machine.

Al Gore, one of Hollywood’s favorite sons because of his commitment to the environment, rocked a large crowd in Beverly Hills on Tuesday with an impassioned plea to solve the “climate change crisis,” part of which is getting media right.

Gore lamented that a modern-day Thomas Paine would not be able to get his “Common Sense” message to the masses today because he couldn’t afford TV airtime, and he criticized the “rise of television at the expense of the printing press.”

But he was most animated, his voice pitching higher and lower and the volume steadily increasing, when he spoke of global warming.

“This is for real. It is not made up. The scientists are not in a conspiracy to lie to us,” Gore nearly shouted.

Gore then pledged to keep yelling until the temperature starts to go up again.

The Goracle also commented about former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor recently saying she regretted her decision on Bush v. Gore. What Gore wouldn’t say is that O’Connor’s “regret” wasn’t that she ruled against Gore’s appeal of the Florida Supreme Court’s decision, but that O’Connor now believes that in hindsight the U.S. Supreme Court should have refused to hear the appeal in the first place. Either way, Gore would still be on the outside looking in.

Frustrated that President Obama and Congress are currently focusing most of their attention (and our money) on other things while his “clean energy” stock portfolio takes a hit (dramatization of Al’s message to DC Dems here), the Goracle is again turning to Hollywood.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter about 75 guests including Lawrence Bender, Leonard Nimoy and Lynn Lear gathered to hear Gore’s impassioned plea for the entertainment industry to renew its focus on climate change.

While in town, Gore also lunched with An Inconvenient Truth director Davis Guggenheim.

At a dinner for the Children’s Defense Fund, the documentarian bemoaned global warming slipping off the public agenda.

“Do you think it still matters to people?” he wondered.

The short version of that is, “Will one of you please make a sequel to The Day After Tomorrow?”

Actually, if Gore was serious about getting Hollywood on board to help curb climate change, he’d demand that they shut down production on everything.

In a Hollywood Reporter news story by Tim Goodwin on Monday night, readers were told about the two motion pictures that depict the hunt and killing of radical-Islamist icon Osama bin Laden by President Barack Obama and members of the U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six being released. Goodwin mentions Katherine Bigalow’s big screen release Zero Dark Thirty, which will be released after election day, and the National Geographic cable-TV channel’s SEAL Team Six: The Raid on Osama bin Laden scheduled to air at 8 p.m. on Sunday, two days before Election Day.

The NatGeo film comes from The Weinstein Company, a big contributor to the Obama campaign, and is directed by John Stockwell (Into the Blue, Turistas, Crazy/Beautiful) and produced by Nicolas Chartier, who was a producer on The Hurt Locker, Bigelow’s best picture Oscar winner.

The problem for both movie production companies is that their films are based on mendacious claims by a questionable President, according to several knowledgeable sources.

For example, in an exclusive interview with the Law Enforcement Examiner on Oct. 14, 2012, a former high-ranking Army officer and television news military analyst said that the Barack Obama telling of the Osama bin Laden killing is full of falsehoods and discrepancies geared towards helping to re-elect a failed president.

Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely (U.S. Army-Ret.), chairman of the non-profit, non-partisan Stand Up America, told the Examiner that his organization’s research team, led by Scott Winchell, learned that President Barack Obama, contrary to news media tales, wasn’t even aware of the raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan, by Navy SEAL Team Six to either capture or kill al-Qaeda’s iconic leader Osama Bin Laden on May 1st, 2011. In fact, according to Gen. Vallely and Winchell, Obama found out about the commencement of the operation after the helicopters with SEAL Team Six had crossed into Pakistani airspace.

The SUA analysts allege that the most sophisticated deception techniques were used to make this very dangerous penetration into Pakistan without Pakistan knowledge.

“The President was notified at the golf course and called off the golf course which is why he was sitting in the strange sitting position in the picture that documented the White House operation room event,” said Gen. Vallely, speaking to Law Enforcement Examiner via telephone.

According to Vallely, Winchell and the SUA analysts, Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) Leon Panetta was “the key player who organized and supported this daring raid.”

The SUA report credits Panetta with signing the order for the SEAL Team to go into Pakistan with only a few people aware: Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Secretary of Defense William Gates, Admiral Bill Mullen and General David Petraeus.

“The White House was closed out of the decision because the President through Valerie Jarrett had turned down two or three other earlier proposals,” the SUA report alleges. “The Deputy of Central Intelligence (DCI) and his covert planning team were extremely frustrated at all the denials, so saw the opportunity slipping away as implausible as it seems.”

Leon Panetta was driven to ensure a successful mission after losing seven CIA officers on Jan. 4, 2010, in Afghanistan when a Jordanian double agent killed the officers.

In defense of Brad Pitt’s mom

Hollywood and the American left love diversity, except when it offends their “progressive” value system.

Witness the reaction to actor Brad Pitt’s mother, Jane, who publicly opposed President Obama’s re-election. Mrs. Pitt’s pro-life, anti-gay marriage statement to her local paper last week enflamed the Tolerance Mob. And her mere expression of dissident political views exposed the glittering hypocrisy of the left-wing “No H8″ campaign.

In a letter to the editor for Missouri’s Springfield News-Leader, Mrs. Pitt responded to another reader who argued that Christians should not support Mitt Romney because of his Mormon faith. Arguing for interfaith tolerance, she praised Romney’s “high morals” and “business experience.” The celebrity mom urged “prayerful consideration” from fellow Christians before voting for Obama — “a man,” she pointed out, “who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”

Self-appointed Tinseltown anti-bigotry cops blew their tops. The Hollywood Reporter labeled Mrs. Pitt’s letter “anti-gay.” Gossip website Global Grind, founded by rap mogul Russell Simmons, called her “homophobic.” Perez Hilton, an L.A.-based gossip website operator and hanger-on to the stars who fronts the “No H8″ gay-marriage movement in California, pounced on Mrs. Pitt as “mommy dearest.”

Hilton angrily scrawled across a photo of Mrs. Pitt with her son: “A vote for Romney is a vote for God.” After taking obligatory potshots at Christians, Hilton, who calls himself the “queen of all media,” fumed: “Ugh! How can one woman birth such a beautiful boy, but have such unattractive views???”

You want ugly? Hilton knows ugly. He’s the same trash-mouth blogger and former beauty pageant judge who attacked Miss USA contestant Carrie Prejean with misogynistic profanities in 2009 because she said she opposed legalizing gay marriage at the federal level in favor of states’ rights to put the question up for a vote. “She lost not because she doesn’t believe in gay marriage,” Hilton railed. “She lost because she’s a dumb bitch!”

You want ugly? When word of Mrs. Pitt’s letter spread on social media late last week, Twitter lit up with a stream of death threats, smears and slurs. My Twitter curation site, Twitchy.com, compiled just some of the vile bile aimed at Mrs. Pitt for supporting traditional values and standing up for the unborn:

“BRAD PITT’S MOM WROTE AN ANTI-GAY PRO-ROMNEY EDITORIAL. KILL THE B***H.”

“Brad Pitt’s mom, die”

“F*** you, Brad Pitt’s mom. The gay community made your kid a star, you whacko.”

“Brad Pitt’s mother…what a brainless old b***h…”

“Brad Pitt’s Mom Slams Obama, Gays. That stand makes her a deluded, dumba** Fascist Repuke”

“I hope Brad Pitt has been supporting his mother and decides to cut her off. What a b***h.”

“Brad Pitt’s mom can choke on a (redacted).”

The usual civility police were in their usual place when the No H8 bullies mauled Mrs. Pitt: nowhere to be found. Brad Pitt also has been silent so far. His brother, Doug, did try, if a bit too meekly, to defend his mom on Monday in an interview with NBC’s “Today” show:

“You know, I think moms and dads and kids agree to disagree all over the world. So why would our family be any different?” he said.

What’s pale yellow, riddled with holes and not very sharp? President Barack Obama’s renewed class-warfare attack on GOP opponent Mitt Romney.

To kick off the Independence Day holiday, America’s fundraiser-in-chief took to Twitter to stoke wealth-bashing resentment against Republicans. “FACT,” Obama’s official Twitter account declared, “In 2010, Romney reported having a $3 million Swiss bank account.” Obama for America campaign manager Jim Messina piled on, urging “every reporter covering Romney” to read left-wing Vanity Fair’s new report on his offshore finances. In a water-carrying news conference call, Obama campaign flack Ben LaBolt assailed Romney’s “mysterious corporation in Bermuda, his funds in the Cayman Islands and the Swiss bank account he opened.”

The Democratic wizards of election-year optics believe that such populist rhetoric demonizing foreign money will help shore up their left flank and win independents tired of crony, out-of-touch government. One problem: They launched their class war fusillade in the same week that Tinseltown tycoon George Clooney announced Obama fundraising efforts — in Geneva, Switzerland. Oops.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Clooney will entertain 150 European elites at a swanky Swiss reception, “which will be followed by a more intimate — and expensive — dinner at which the star will be the guest of honor. Tickets for the latter event will go for $20,000 for singles and $30,000 for couples.” As Reuters reported at the time, Clooney spearheaded a similar event in Geneva, “one of the world’s most affluent cities,” in 2008. “Some 170 contributors paid $1,000 a head to hear him speak at a cocktail party held at a museum in Geneva’s Old Town. And 75 high-rolling supporters spent $10,000 each to attend ‘an intimate seated dinner’” with the actor.

Swiss money for thee, but not for Romney, eh, Democrats?

Even more problematic for Obama: Some of his very best campaign finance bundlers and golfing buddies are architects and beneficiaries of the Swiss tax havens he purports to abhor.

Robert Wolf is president of Swiss financial giant UBS Investment Bank and chairman of UBS Americas. According to campaign finance records, this longtime friend and fat cat has personally bundled more than $500,000 for Obama, dating back to Obama’s Illinois Senate days.

Obama and Wolf were introduced by radical leftist billionaire George Soros and have remained golfing and basketball buddies ever since. Wolf sits on Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board and the presidential Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. In August 2010, Obama’s Internal Revenue Service dropped its lawsuit over UBS tax havens. The company forked over nearly $800 million to make the investigators all go away.

Wolf’s no lone Swiss-based Obama wolf. The left-leaning BuzzFeed and right-leaning Washington Free Beacon websites both noted in April that another deep-pocketed Obama bundler, Charles Adams, heads the Swiss office of powerhouse law firm Akin Gump. He’s raised at least $100,000.

It’s fondue-savory to watch the current administration, up to its eyeballs in tax cheats and scofflaws from the Treasury Department to the Health and Human Services Department to the Labor Department, railing about Romney’s purported tax evasion. It’s even richer to watch Obama’s operatives huff and puff about Romney’s lack of transparency while using Romney’s own disclosed tax forms to disparage his wealth, investments and private-sector success.

The Hollywood Reporter has published an extensive interview with Ted Turner. In one section of the interview, after saying the Tea Party is “mean spirited” (a man who knows how to spot Nazis at Fox News can be trusted to root out overexaggeration wherever it exists), Turner expressed his frustrations with the Tea Party’s denial of settled science:

“It’s so heartbreaking to have [them] say that global warming is a hoax,” Turner says in a new Hollywood Reporter profile.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, he admits to driving a Prius and supporting President Obama.

Digging a little deeper into the Hollywood Reporter story, after reading about Turner’s environmentally friendly Prius and global warming concerns, we find this gem that makes Al Gore look like a buck private in the Army of Hypocrisy:

He may lack the ebullience of his earlier years, yet Turner shuttles endlessly among his 28 properties — 14 of them ranches with 55,000 bison — traveling hundreds of thousands of miles per year on his private Challenger jet.

Not exactly Ed Begley, Jr., is he? Maybe Turner could convince more people that global warming is a grave threat to humanity if he would behave as if he believes it. But the joke’s on the rest of us, because when global warming turns everybody into cannibals, Ted Turner will be 35,000 feet off the ground.

Finally, the story features a little bit about Turner’s television viewing habits:

He only watches CNN and no other channels on television — not even CNN’s sister HLN. “I haven’t watched in years,” he said. “I want to see serious news.”

This is great news. Despite all the liberal movie reviewers who hated the movie, I thought that part 1 was very good. Could they have spent more than $10 million making it to get snazzier special effects? Sure. Did it really matter? No. The actors did a good job, the script was pretty good (slightly too reliant on the book’s dialogue), and the point of the movie was powerful.

. . . In fact, said John Aglialoro, the co-producer and financier, it’s the monolithic view from critics that say the movie stinks that is motivating him to make Parts 2 and 3, he told The Hollywood Reporter.
And he defended his film Wednesday by accusing professional film reviewers of political bias. How else, he asks, to explain their distaste for a film that is liked by the audience? At Rottentomatoes.com, 7,400 people gave it an average 85% score.
Peter Travers of Rolling Stone, though, gave the movie zero stars, and Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave it one. A dozen others were equally dismissive.
“It was a nihilistic craze,” Aglialoro said. “Not in the history of Hollywood has 16 reviewers said the same low things about a movie.
“They’re lemmings,” he said. “What’s their fear of Ayn Rand? They hate this woman. They hate individualism.
“I’m going to get a picture of Ebert and Travers and the rest of them so I can wake up in the morning and they’ll be right there. They’re revitalizing me with their outrageousness.”
Aglialoro said he had to scale down his ambition for the film to be in 1,000 theaters this weekend, so it will likely be closer to 400. During its opening weekend, the movie took in $5,640 per screen but then only $1,890 in its second. Through Wednesday, the film had grossed $3.3 million since opening April 15.
Aglialoro acknowledged that spending almost no money on marketing and relying almost entirely on the Internet and talk radio — a strategy he boasted of a week ago — was ineffective in the long run.
“You really need to spend millions to get the message on TV screens,” he said. “If I want Part 2 to open on 1,500 screens, I need to decide if I want to spend $10 million on TV commercials.” . . .

Liberal actress Julianne Moore has already been selected to play the part of Sarah Palin in the movie from a screenplay adapted by a liberal and directed by a liberal, but that’ll be balanced out now because the part of John McCain is going to an actor who is, well, a liberal. Now that’s a well-balanced team.

Four-time Academy Award nominee Ed Harris has been cast as presidential candidate John McCain in HBO’s upcoming film, Game Change.

HBO Films and Everyman Pictures’ Game Change follows McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign, from his controversial selection of Palin as his running mate to their ultimate defeat in the general election.

The parts of Bill, Hillary and the Obamas have yet to be cast, but Tiger Woods should definitely in the running to play Barack circa 2008.

I’m expecting the libs to include a scene featuring Sarah Palin nearly going insane after handlers put her in a round room and tell her to sit in the corner, but I’ve heard they might also include a realistic and torrid love scene between John McCain and Russ Feingold.

Hollywood journalist/radio host, Mike Evans, has known now Governor of Hawaii, Neil Abercrombie, for decades. He first met the Governor when the Governor was driving a cab in Honolulu, Hawaii. They became good friends. They spent a lot of time together in Washington during the time of Obama’s inauguration. Abercrombie told Evans then that he was going to run for Governor of Hawaii. He also told Evans that he remembered Obama as a child and that he used to call him Barry. He told him that once he became Governor, he was going to put an end to the story that Obama was not born in the United States by getting a copy of his birth certificate.

Abercrombie did become Governor and using his powers as Governor, he did look for the document. On January 19, 2011, he told Evans during a telephone conversation that he searched everywhere for the birth certificate. He told him that he went to the only two hospitals that existed in Honolulu at the time at which a baby could be born, Kapi’olani Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Queen’s Hospital. Abercrombie told Evans that there is no Obama birth certificate in Hawaii and that there is absolutely no proof that Obama was born in Hawaii. Abercrombie also told Evans that he remembered Obama playing in a tee-ball league when he was about 5 or 6 but not before that. A confirmation of this information can be heard on a recording of an interview on the radio 92 KQRS Morning Show done on January 20, 2011. During this radio show, Mike Evans, recounts the details of his conversation he had with Governor Abercrombie just the day before.

On January 20, 2011, former Hawaii elections clerk Tim Adams signed an affidavit in which he swears that his supervisors in Hawaii told him that no long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate existed for Obama. He swears that he was also told that neither Queens Medical Center nor Kapi’olani Medical Center in Honolulu had any medical record showing that Obama was born in either facility. The question now is if Abercrombie has not been able to find any Obama Hawaii birth certificate, why did he tell the public that he was abandoning his search for it because privacy laws prohibit him from disclosing the document?
