Obama Campaign Manager Highlights Difference Between Pushing the Elderly Off a Cliff and Achievement

by Doug Powers on Monday, August 13th, 2012

How come Paul Ryan’s $700 billion Medicare “cuts” that would have no effect on anyone over 55 and increase options for retirees as they’re grandfathered in (if you’ll pardon the expression) would be the equivalent of pushing grandma off a cliff, but Obama’s $700 billion Medicare cut to shovel the money into Obamacare was an achievement?

That was Obama’s deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter in a rare fit of honesty.

Meanwhile, President Obama called Paul Ryan a “decent man” that he happens to disagree with because he wants to kill old people.

Speaking of that, according to David Axelrod, Paul Ryan is eager to kick his own mother off Medicare.

Harry Reid leads the fight to protect senior citizens’ access to… junk mail

by Doug Powers on Friday, April 20th, 2012

This is article 10 of 14 in the topic US Postal Service

The Senate Majority Leader is fighting to make sure the junk mail on which so many seniors depend doesn’t wither on the vine:

In his opening speech on Wednesday, Reid called on the Senate to quickly move forward on the passage of S. 1789, the 21st Century Postal Service Act, which restructures pension plans for Postal Service employees as well as allows the USPS to access overpayments in the Federal Employee Retirement System.

“Madam President,” Reid said to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), the presiding officer of the Senate, “I’ll come home tonight here to my home in Washington and there’ll be some mail there. A lot of it is what some people refer to as junk mail, but for the people who are sending that mail, it’s very important.

“And when talking about seniors, seniors love getting junk mail. It’s sometimes their only way of communicating or feeling like they’re part of the real world,” Reid continued. “Elderly Americans, more than anyone in America, rely on the United States Postal Service, but unless we act quickly, thousands of post offices … will close. I’ve said this earlier today; I repeat it.”

Why am I guessing that the “junk mail” Reid is worried about being delivered to his elderly constituents are the letters from Harry Reid’s office?

By the way, here’s Reid’s upcoming mailer:

Don’t let the Republicans do this to the junk mail of America’s seniors!

The Left Wing Circular Firing Squad

by J.J. Jackson on Sunday, July 24th, 2011

This is article 12 of 198 in the topic Liberalism

Liberals have set themselves up for failure primarily because, as the rest of us all know, liberalism does not work. The fact that liberalism does not work stuns liberals. They disbelieve this fact because they so religiously believe in liberalism. And as liberalism fails, every piece of it falls like dominoes because liberals always align themselves into a circular firing squad.

When “moderates”, i.e. liberals who do not want to be associated with the toxic ideals of liberalism, get into the circle and start shooting things go downhill even faster. This is simply unavoidable.

For the uninitiated, a circular firing squad is an analogy for a bunch of people who have the same goal. Perhaps it is a common enemy. But in pursuit of that goal everyone is required to harm those that have the same goal as they do. Thus the hilarious concept of a bunch of people standing around in a circle, each with a gun pointed at the back of the head of the person in front of them. When the triggers are pulled everyone in the circle drops dead.

Do not believe me that liberalism is like this? Oh, then you do need to pay better attention to what is going on in the world. All liberals have a common enemy. That enemy is limited government, liberty and the United States of America as it was founded to be.

Let us start with any liberal in the circle. For the sake of argument, let’s look at one that promises the elderly Social Security to gain votes. Social Security requires however that there are younger workers generating paychecks to put money into the system in order to write these promised checks.

Behind the liberal promising Social Security however is another liberal. This liberal spends and spends and spends government money like it is in infinite supply. He even dips into the Social Security funds and spends more money than is being brought in. This leads to massive deficits. These deficits put a strain on the economy. The economy starts to slow because of this. As the economy slows wages of existing workers are depressed. This leads to less money coming in to pay the promises of the first liberal who promised Social Security.

Behind the liberal spending money hand over fist is another liberal. This liberal loves regulation. She regulates and regulates and regulates. These regulations however cost business money. These expenses reduce revenues. These costs drain resources. These resources being drained leads to fewer employees and again, fewer workers to pay into the Social Security coffers.

Behind this liberal is the liberal who loves to conduct social engineering. This liberal, for example, thinks that it is unfair that some Americans do not have homes which they own. So this liberal starts to tinker with the business models of banks. He even uses the liberal at whose head he has pointed a gun and who loves to regulate to help him in this goal. He forces banks to make loans to people who cannot reasonably be assumed to be capable of paying them back and does so through the power of government persuasion and threats.

Nigerian men with no ID carrying multiple expired boarding passes not in their own names? Ch… wait, where’d he go?

CBS New York:

CBS News has confirmed that authorities are looking into a shocking security breach that took place at John F. Kennedy International Airport last week.

Investigators say Olajide Oluwaseun Noibi, a Nigerian, boarded Virgin America Flight 415 to Los Angeles without a valid passport or identification, using an expired boarding pass for a flight the day before that belonged to someone else.

Officials say Noibi got through security and was able to board the plane. No one noticed until the flight was airborne when a flight attendant realized Noibi was sitting in a seat that was supposed to be vacant.
