The Constitutional Right to Drive Drunk While Brown and Illegal (DDWBI!)

by John Lillpop on Thursday, June 27th, 2013

This is article 374 of 455 in the topic Immigration

Democrats desperate for voters have gone to new lows in their quest for Immigration Reform, more precisely known as Amnesty.

As reported at the reference, a single DUI conviction will not keep an invader out of America. Two DUIs are still OK. Even three!

More than three DUIs, however, causes your drunken posterior to be sent to Janet Napolitano, Queen of the Newly Arrived Refugees wing of the Democrat Party, and Permanent Chair of the national Illegal Alien Alcoholic Anonymous sanctuary.

Napolitano will refer qualified drunks to tax-payer funded rehab services. Qualified means the drunk will never vote Republican upon threat of immediate deportation.

The drivel from the Senate reads as follows:

The Senate immigration bill as it currently stands will allow an illegal alien with two convictions “for driving under the influence or driving while intoxicated” to be granted legal status in this country.

If the alien is not then convicted of a third DUI after passage of the bill and before he is naturalized, he will remain eligible to eventually become a U.S. citizen.

And, even if an alien has been convicted of three or more DUIs, the bill allows the secretary of homeland security to waive the 2-DUI limit for illegal aliens seeking legalization if she believes it is “for humanitarian purposes, to ensure family unity, or if such a waiver is otherwise in the public interest.”

The bill brands an alien as a “habitual drunk driver” only after the alien has incurred three DUIs.

However, each of these three DUI convictions must be for an offense that happened on a separate date. Thus, theoretically, if an illegal alien were caught driving under the influence at 12:01 a.m one day, then went home and slept it off, then went out and got caught for driving under the influence again at 11:59 p.m. on the same day, he would only be counted as having one DUI under the Senate immigration bill.

The Senate Judiciary Committee’s summary of the bill put it this way:

“Section 3702. Banning habitual drunk drivers from the United States

“This section renders inadmissible and deportable any alien convicted of three offenses occurring on separate dates related to driving under the influence or driving while intoxicated. For deportation, at least one of the convictions must occur post-enactment. Further, the section makes conviction for a third drunk driving offense an aggravated felony. The provision takes effect on the date of enactment of the bill. It applies only if one of the convictions takes place after enactment of the bill.”

Pages 251-253 of Title III of the Corker-Hoeven amended text of the Senate bill (the “Interior Enforcement” section) spells out an illegal alien’s presumed right to get at least two DUIs (on separate dates) and still be legalized.

The bill says that an alien is “inadmissible” if he or she has already been convicted of at least 3 DUIs that happened on separate dates and is “deportable” if he or she had two DUI convictions before passage of the immigration-reform bill and then went out and got a third DUI conviction after passage of the bill.”

There you go: Another stupid enticement to grow the Democrat Party at the expense of responsible citizens!

Internet or the Heart – Which is the Land of Shadows?

by Rev. Michael Bresciani on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013

shadow-lands.jpgO’Reilly Factor contributors McGuirk and Gutfeld discussed everything from Obama’s gun proposals to Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o on Friday January 18, 2013. No one is happy with Lance Armstrong, Obama or the football superstar, but it was the viewer emails that stole the spotlight.

A Pastor from Duncan, Washington said, “Bill, great Talking Points Memo; do not let the machines take over your lives. I have preached on this very thing. Evil flourishes in the shadows. The Internet is full of shadows.”

Speaking with less foreboding, George Alexander from Sydney Australia exclaimed, “The Internet is not a machine. It’s a means of communication. A rather bizarre Talking Points. What’s tomorrow? Fear of the telephone?”

No one could deny that the internet is a land of shadows filled with scams, conspiracies, nonsense, porn, and drivel. But then we are reminded that most of the nation’s major newspapers now have online editions and when all else fails sometimes the only way to get an unbiased story is to search the web. Comparisons can be made quickly, and liberal media cannot hold out their biases for very long because of the instant cross references provided by the internet.

Today there is an ample supply of shadowed lands including the White House. Canada Free Press contributor Erik Rush said in an article entitled “The Darkest Design of Barack Obama,” “Obama’s definitely high on power…As the press continues to maintain the illusion that Obama is simply another American trying to do the right thing, he has been involved in the darkest machinations, some as yet incomprehensible to the average American.”

Shadowed areas are not limited to the secular regions of the public alone. In the realms of Christianity and the church there is a growing apostasy that is besmirching the call of the simple gospel with a new theology that makes a caricature of Christ and clowns of his followers.

The Salon website recently featured an article on evangelist Creflo Dollar’s powerful influence on the black churches to adopt the so called “prosperity gospel,” even as some more traditional black ministers are calling him “Cash-flow Dollar.” It isn’t that Salon is wrongfully mocking the prosperity gospel without foundation, it is rather the idea that God wants us all to “drive a Bentley,” that Salon and anyone with half a brain is cringing from. This is, to many believers and unbelievers alike, darkness standing right out in the middle of a blinding public spotlight.

It is far more honest to say that the ever increasing state of reprobation that is overtaking the minds of modern man are causing them all to be living, and acting out the course of their entire lives in a land of deepening shadows. It isn’t the internet or the apostate church that has drawn them in, but the condition, the pre-disposition and the desires of their own hearts that have lured them into the shadows.

Bill O’Reilly’s assertion that the internet is responsible for things like football heroes with imaginary girlfriends, and most of the bizarre behaviors of the day, falls seriously short of the truth. Even after a generation long push by the atheists’, academics, the media and the liberals to remove the consciousness of God from virtually everyone, the honest answer still lies much closer to home.

Good News for Romney: Obama Has No Plans to Bring Back the Teleprompter for Stump Speeches

by Doug Powers on Saturday, July 28th, 2012

This is article 799 of 1300 in the topic 2012 Elections

This surprises me a little, because off-prompter Obama says what he really thinks even if he later tries to deny he didn’t say what he said:

The Obama campaign has no plans to change the president’s style on the stump in the wake of his “you didn’t build that” remark, which Republicans have seized upon in recent days to argue the president is out of touch on the economy.

Obama made the impromptu remark during a Virginia campaign address earlier this month when he was speaking without a teleprompter, referring occasionally to a binder of notes on his podium. The Hill reported last week that Obama would rely on the teleprompter less so that he could be more spontaneous and interact with his supporters at campaign appearances instead of reading from two glass panes.

The Obama campaign must really believe it’s more important for Obama to “connect” with his audience off prompter even though there’s a risk that what comes out of his mouth will be Marxist drivel and ad fodder for Romney rather than return to the scripted safety that TOTUS usage offers but that makes him appear more disconnected from the crowd.

If they do keep him off the prompter, at some point we’ll get more of these collectivist gems:

Why 2012 May Be Starkly Different From 1996

by Christopher G. Adamo on Thursday, June 9th, 2011

This is article 79 of 1300 in the topic 2012 Elections

Ever since the elections of 2010, the propagandists of the left have been proclaiming America’s shift back to the “middle,” meaning away from the fervent conservatism that undergirded last fall’s landslide. Sadly, even some on the right have accepted such drivel, and consequently sought to soften the strident tone of the 2009-2010 grassroots revolt against the encroaching statist monster that threatens the nation.

As recently as last month, it appeared that Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, the epitome of an “establishment Republican,” would be promoted from within as the party nominee in next year’s presidential race. In the Congress, Republican Speaker John Boehner rolled over for the Democrats in a pathetic capitulation on the Federal budget. The New York District 26 special election went to Democrat Kathy Hochul, though a Republican had won it with a solid majority only six months ago. And in the wake of the successful attack on Osama bin Laden, a sycophantic press incessantly declared Barack Obama politically invulnerable as he commenced his campaign for a second term.

Not surprisingly, comparisons are being made to the political comeback and “landslide” 1996 re-election of Bill Clinton, given that his presidency had similarly appeared to be on the ropes in the wake of the conservative/Republican mid-term tsunami that occurred in 1994. After all, if Bill Clinton and his party could make so dramatic of a comeback in only two years, why not Barack Obama? It is therefore very useful to Democrat interests to draw as much of a parallel as possible to those years, since the end game would mean re-election for Obama.

However, such displays of Democrat jubilance are a bit premature, to put it mildly. Most present-day “analyses” of what actually happened in the 1996 presidential election are flagrant examples of history revision, bearing little or no connection to reality (admittedly a standard symptom of the liberal condition). And the current ebb and flow of political forces are so drastically unlike those of the mid 1990s that the actualities of that period can in no way be invoked as harbingers of what may befall America in the next seventeen months.

For starters, in contrast to all of the media efforts to characterize the 1996 presidential contest as a “mandate” for Bill Clinton, he never enjoyed a decisive re-election victory. Despite the fervent efforts of the Clinton campaign to boost his popularity, he received less than half of one of the smallest voter turnouts in seven decades. Furthermore, the vote against him was divided, deliberately so, by the involvement of Ross Perot, who garnered eight percent, thus ensuring that Republican Bob Dole would lose. So while Clinton did indeed achieve a second term, it was certainly not by a “landslide.”

Far more pertinent to today’s circumstances however are the factors that are lining up against the hopes of Obama and the Democrats.

The EPA’s Fantastic Clean Air Fictions

by Alan Caruba on Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

This is article 68 of 188 in the topic Government Regulations

Reading the Environmental Protection Agency’s news releases is a trip into the world of science fiction, of fantastical assertions and predictions that have no relationship to reality. The EPA is a most wicked assemblage of alleged scientists and political appointees who sole purpose is to economically burden the industrial, commercial, and agricultural sectors of the nation in every way possible.

Most reporters covering environmental issues these days are so brainwashed and brain dead they never actually question the drivel that the EPA shovels on a daily basis. The latest is a March 16 release “EPA Proposes First National Standard for Mercury Pollution from Power Plants.” The key words here are “power plants”, the 24/7 generators of the electricity we all depend upon.

By burdening power plants with unnecessary costs the EPA drives up the price of electricity and are thus able to make a better case for “renewables”, the worst, most unreliable and most unaffordable producers of electricity, wind and solar power. In the process, they get to demonize coal-burning plants that produce fifty percent of the electricity.

The opening paragraph of the EPA release is a staggering 100-plus words in length, two run-on sentences that would earn any high school English student a failing grade.

“WASHINGTON – In response to a court deadline, today the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed the first-ever national standards for mercury, arsenic and other toxic air pollution from power plants. The new power plant mercury and air toxics standards – which eliminate 20 years of uncertainty across industry – would require many power plants to install widely available, proven pollution control technologies to cut harmful emissions of mercury, arsenic, chromium, nickel and acid gases, while preventing as many as 17,000 premature deaths and 11,000 heart attacks a year. The new proposed standards would also provide particular health benefits for children, preventing 120,000 cases of childhood asthma symptoms and about 11,000 fewer cases of acute bronchitis among children each year. The proposed standards would also avert more than 12,000 emergency room visits and hospital admissions and 850,000 fewer days of work missed due to illness.

The assertions made on behalf of the proposed rule, one that the EPA has waited eleven years to slip by the public, are so absurd that it is testimony to how stupid the EPA thinks the public is.

It is an aggregation of statistics without any citation of their source, all intended to drive home the horrors that Americans have allegedly been living with and fanciful health threats the rule will allegedly prevent. How can anyone know or even predict how many “emergency room visits” are attributable to mercury, arsenic, chromium, nickel, and acid gas emissions? And who among you knows the actual amounts? The facts put the lie to this fear-mongering and the EPA’s own monitoring data provide them!

Democrats Scramble to Save Their #1 Donor – The Teachers

by JB Williams on Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

This is article 45 of 142 in the topic Democratic Party

America’s BIGGEST political donor is not corporate America, bankers, Insurers or Wall Street. It is the National Education Association, which gave over $56 million in campaign donations in the 2008 election cycle alone, and American Federation of Teachers, which gave over $12 million in 2008. Combined, these two teachers unions gave over $68 million in 2008, ALL of it to Democrats. Still trying to figure out why Democrats are desperate to save the public sector unions?

Democrats scramble to prop up public sector unions not on behalf of teachers or students, but rather on their own behalf, as the NEA is the single largest political donor in America today and they give almost 100% to DEMOCRATS! In short, without millions in campaign funding from the national teachers union, teachers would be better off, but Democrats would be in DEEP trouble!

Lately, there has been a lot of leftist press drivel about Republican supporters, the Koch brothers and Koch Industries, which has given some $11 million in campaign donations over the last ten years or so, 89% of it to Republicans. They aren’t even an ant in the sandbox of politics, compared to the NEA, which is more like the sand in the sandbox.

Koch Industries ranks #83 on the TOP 100 list of political donors. They are nothing compared to the NEA who gave more than $56 million in 2008 alone, essentially ALL of it to Democrats, and ranks #8 on the TOP 100 donor list.

Teachers working in the National Public Indoctrination System need a labor union for one reason only, to raise money from teachers to support the Democrat Party. Teachers, half of whom are fed up with federal indoctrination mandates, are NOT the winners in the current system. Leftist Democrats are, and their union thug buddies who advance their international socialist agenda via the Democrat Party, paid for largely by public school teachers.

I get why Democrats are scrambling to save the public sector unions, and even why other public sector employees need a union so that they can’t be fired for not doing their jobs.

But why are teachers supporting all of this anti-American indoctrination with their union dues and protest signs?

In the good old days, we were told to look for the union label and buy products made in America. After labor unions ran private sector manufacturing out of America, government jobs is pretty much the only place you can find the union label.

Beyond George Soros’ ActBlue Democrat juggernaut, it’s the teachers union, the American Fedn of State, County & Municipal Employees of public sector employees, the mass media union and scumbag lawyer union American Assn for Justice, that make today’s Democratic Socialist movement possible.

Without teachers, government employees and lawyers, there would be NO Democrat Party or democratic socialism in America today!

How dare those evil Republicans try to liberate American taxpayers from these cut throat leftist thugs. No wonder Democrats ran away to Chicago as Gov. Walker moved to liberate Wisconsin taxpayers.

$68 million in campaign money buys a lot of loyalty from leftist Democrats, huh? The teachers should be ashamed to protest. Shut up and return to the classroom before we hire your replacements. Fire your unions and keep the $68 million to feed your families next time!

Ass Extinction

by Larry Wilke on Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

This is article 5 of 13 in the topic Doomsday Theories

Well, you may be surprised to read this but they are at it again.. Some of the vaunted liberal “scientists” are making their usual predictions based upon nothingness.. The progressive pattern reveals the same hysteria-driven drivel that is only taken “seriously” at San Francisco socialist soirees and within the walls of Congress.. By the way, those are the only ones who are listening and when the first group begins puling to the second group, all of our wallets become a little lighter..

If it isn’t another “Ice Age”, it is “Globaloney Warming”. If it isn’t the “Population Explosion” it is the “World-Wide Famine”.. The estrogen levels of the liberals has to be about as high as their IQ’s, this is why they always resort to such sophistry which is based upon the same type of sound “science” that all of their other previous predictions have been scrupulously scripted from..

Yahoo news reports (hopefully tongue in cheek) that “Mankind may have unleashed the sixth known mass extinction in Earth’s history..” We can’t necessarily blame Yahoo for this as this frightening scenario has come from “the science journal Nature..” When dealing with the liberals and their histrionics, there should be some panel assembled to verify and justify their use of the term “science”. Like every other word that drips from the mealy mouth of a liberal, the word is cheapened by their use, overuse and abuse of it..

The indoctrination for the uninitiated begins early on in the article. “Over the past 540 million years, five mega-wipeouts of species have occurred through naturally-induced events..” Please note the use of the liberal “scientific” term, “mega-wipeouts”.. The important point to remember here is that these have “occurred through naturally-induced events..” Who can see the direction that this is going, “left” maybe?

“But the new threat is man-made, inflicted by habitation loss, over-hunting, over-fishing, the spread of germs and viruses and introduced species and by climate change caused by fossil-fuel greenhouse gases, says the study..” Shall we delve into this?

OF COURSE this is “man-made”, how else can all of the liberal parallel phantasms be brought into play? “Habitation loss” needs more environmental protection, “over-hunting” and “over-fishing” needs the attention of the animal rights lunatics. The liberals themselves are personally responsible for a number of “germs and viruses” that have certainly plagued mankind since the sixties, but since mankind is the “victim” and not the “blind albino crotch tick”, no harm no foul.. According to the “scientists”, “climate change” (Globaloney Warming 2.0..) caused by greenhouse gases HAS to be the real “threat”.. The liberal’s biggest push, with all of its “green jobs” and its “enviro-friendly” fuels, is directly related to the “big scare” surrounding “greenhouse gases”..

“Paleobiologists at the University of Berkeley looked at the state of biodiversity..” Hold it right there, bub.. “Biodiversity” is a liberal scam founded in the liberal scam of “diversity”. Using the liberal “definitional inversion” chart, “diversity”, regardless of where it is incorporated by the liberals, is actually “exclusion” based upon a number of theories. (Example: the “diversity” of quotas is the “exclusion” of the more qualified.) It is nothing more than their fascism fomented by fiction.

Why Not DREAM Help for U.S. Citizens Rather Than Illegals?

by John Lillpop on Thursday, December 9th, 2010

This is article 141 of 455 in the topic Immigration

Good tidings of Joy as Democrats have shelved, at least temporarily, their insane effort to waste billions of taxpayer funds on the children of illegal aliens, who, by definition, are also illegal.

Following passage of the anti-American DREAM act in Nancy Pelosi’s House of Horrors on Wednesday, President Obama polluted the air waves with nonsensical drivel about the historic nature of the House vote.

The One was quoted as saying,

“This vote is not only the right thing to do for a group of talented young people who seek to serve a country they know as their own by continuing their education or serving in the military, but it is the right thing for the United States of America.”

The right thing to do, sir? Really?

Given the fact that DREAM rewards people for breaking and entering into our sovereign nation, thereby encouraging another 12-40 million invaders to follow suit, just how is that the right thing?

How in the world can a nation that claims to be a nation of laws, undercut those who follow the rules by allowing the cheaters to advance to the front of the line?

With all due respect, Mr. President, America owes exactly NOTHING to those here illegally. They have violated our borders and immigration laws and need to leave or be deported as soon as possible.

Instead of making crime pay for illegal aliens, why not demand that they return to Mexico, or other nation of origin, file the paperwork needed for LEGAL migration, and then wait their turn in line as millions of others are forced to do?

Why not give rule of law a chance?

By the way, Obama’s reference to illegal aliens as a “group of talented young people” brings up an interesting question: What about the millions of talented American citizens who could use $6 billion plus a year to further their education?

Think of the inner cities where African-Americans are stuck in the quagmire of poverty sparked by lack of education.

Why should the U.S. government waste a single penny on illegal aliens when there is such great need among U.S. citizens?

In addition, the Department of Homeland Security recently confirmed that it would be less expensive to deport all illegal aliens:

As reported, in part, at Oneoldvet.com

On December 3, Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, Nelson Peacock, responding to request from several U.S. Senators, including Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), wrote: “Our conservative estimate suggests that ICE would require a budget of more than $135 billion to apprehend, detain and remove the nation’s entire illegal immigrant population.”

In July 2010, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) released the results of a study which examined the costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local levels. The study found that U.S. state and local governments shell out $84.2 billion annually in various services (law enforcement, schools, social services, etc.), with California taxpayers alone, spending $21 billion on illegal aliens every year.

The same study found that $29 billion is spent every year in federal funds on illegal aliens.

Books For Your Christmas Gift List

by Bob Livingston on Monday, November 29th, 2010

This is article 2 of 69 in the topic Book & Movie Reviews

Books For Your Christmas Gift List

I read a lot of books. Not the mind-numbing drivel that most people read — the fiction love story/murder mystery/horror stuff — that, while maybe good for a diversion and enjoyment, does nothing to expand the mind, but real books, with substance, that challenge me to think or inform me about the real history of our nation, where we came from and how we got to where we are.

So with the Christmas season upon us, I thought I would compile a list of books that would make great gifts for the liberty-loving and open-minded patriot. I think these would be great books to add to your gift list — especially if you’re looking for something to give the person who has everything. Nothing broadens the horizons like a good book. They are presented in no particular order.

The Creature from Jekyll Island, by G. Edward Griffin. Many books have been written about the Federal Reserve, but none tackle the conspiracy behind it and its results better than this one. In case you don’t know the story, in 1910, on a tiny and secluded island off the coast of Georgia, a group of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the world held a meeting that would change the course of history. They arrived there after a secretive train trip from New York, where they left under the cover of darkness. There they hatched a plan — in meetings so secretive that the servants attending them never learned their names — that would eventually become the Federal Reserve, the most blatant scam in the history of the world. After you read this book you’ll truly grasp what money is — and what it isn’t — and you’ll know once and for all the true cause of wars, boom-bust cycles, inflation, depression and prosperity. You’ll see how wealth has been stolen from the middle class and you’ll understand why the Federal Reserve is neither Federal (it is not a government entity) not does it hold reserves. The fifth edition of this book just came out, and it covers the current economic crisis.
Patriots: Men Who Started the American Revolution, by A.J. Languth. If you truly want to learn about the men behind the American Revolution, this is the book for you. It gives you details about the lives and times of America’s patriots: Samuel Adams, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, John Hancock and others. It describes how the movement toward American independence and war with Great Britain grew from discussions at a back table at a pub to direct confrontation to victory. This is the history you were not taught in school, but that you need to know if you truly want to understand what motivated the Founding Fathers.
End The Fed, by Ron Paul.

Robert Reich Lashes Out Falsely Again

by US Weapon on Friday, October 1st, 2010

This is article 112 of 389 in the topic economy

Tonight I reach once again into the bowels of the Huffington Post for an article that I will systematically address, as I am sometimes prone to do. What caught my attention in the headline was the social darwinism part. As most of you know, I am not opposed to social darwinism. I think in many cases it is the proper thing. There are exceptions, but by and large, the survival of the species, according to evolutionary dictates (which I thought Democrats worshiped), demands that we allow the weak to be weeded out of the gene pool. Tonight’s target is Robert Reich. As many of you are aware, Reich served as the US Secretary of Labor and is also a professor at the University of California, Berkeley. I find him to be generally wrong on many things, and his partisan bias is evident in his economic advice. Because he is a strong believer in Keynes principles, I feel he is lost. But when he writes such drivel as below, I feel compelled to call him out on it. For the record, I think that it is authors such as Reich (along with Cesca and Johann Hari) that have rendered the Huffington Post somewhat damaged goods. For every good author and article there will be a clearly partisan and off base one like this.

As is the case with the others I have done this to, I am compelled to tell everyone up front that Reich’s article originally appeared at the Huffington Post and you can view it, and the comments that followed it at their site by following this link:  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-reich/republican-economics-as-s_b_739654.html

Republican Economics as Social Darwinism
by Robert Reich

John Boehner, the Republican House leader who will become Speaker if Democrats lose control of the House in the upcoming midterms, recently offered his solution to the current economic crisis: “Liquidate labor, liquidate stocks, liquidate the farmer, liquidate real estate. It will purge the rottenness out of the system. People will work harder, lead a more moral life.”

Actually, those weren’t Boehner’s words. They were uttered by Herbert Hoover’s treasury secretary, millionaire industrialist Andrew Mellon, after the Great Crash of 1929.

Reich starts right off with a catchy opening, an effective writing method. Unfortunately he takes Mellon’s words out of context and never offers any history or context to help the reader understand what Mellon was talking about or why he felt that the steps he put forth with some obvious inflammatory language that lacked general tact we the right way to go. The intent here is obvious. Reich wants to paint the GOP position as evil and intentionally aimed at hurting regular Americans. Surprise! Rather than argue the merits, or lack of, in the GOP position, Reich starts out with an emotional appeal to ensure that the reader is conditioned to agree.
