BP tells experienced Gulf fishermen that they don’t know the difference between oil and seafloor muck

by Lord Stirling on Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

This world has become so infected with evil that leading corporations and politicians can no longer tell the truth. They would rather lie then tell the truth. They are clearly so satanic that the truth is not in them and they don’t give a crap what we…the little people as the Chairman of BP said of the masses of people… think or want. We have allowed the scum of the world to lead us to our own demise!

The Pensacola News Journal notes:

Recreational fisherman Mark Fuqua, 47, of Pensacola, who has fished the waters from Destin to Pensacola most of his life, discovered just how big the mess is on the first day he struck out to drop a line in the water since the fishing ban was lifted two weeks ago.

After a day of fishing in several areas of the bay on Wednesday, his boat, anchor and cast net were covered in oil.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” he said. “I was fishing in front of Palafox Pier and pulled up my anchor, and it looked like it had black mud on it. I reached down to try to wipe it off and it was all greasy, like greasy sand.”

The anchor was dropped in 20 feet of water.

[Scott Piggott, who heads the Escambia and Santa Rosa cleanup operation for BP] said the reports from fishermen about finding oil often are not reliable.

“I’ve heard accounts of people who hold up their anchors that have this black stuff on it,” he said. “I can’t tell you how many times we’ve gotten reports from fishermen with sightings of sheen and oil. Ninety-nine percent of the time, these reports turn out to be organic material.”

Thad Allen Spits On The 1st Amendment

by Bob Livingston on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Thad Allen Spits On The 1st Amendment

It’s not just the environment being damaged as the Deepwater Horizon oil well continues to spew crude into the Gulf of Mexico. It’s also the 1st Amendment.

New rules issued last week by the United States Coast Guard prevent the public—and that includes reporters and photographers—from getting within 65 feet of any oil response vessel or booms on the water or beaches. Violators can be fined up to $40,000 and charged with a Class D felony.

Both local and national reporters are complaining that the restrictions prevent them from accurately covering the response to the spill. Response head Thad Allen of the Coast Guard defended the new restrictions by first saying it was for the safety of the public, then changing it to the safety of the workers.

These restrictions are in addition to restrictions on aircraft over the area, and rules that ban the workers from speaking to the media.

Clearly what’s at work here is BP and the Federal government are trying to cover up the lousy job they’re doing with the cleanup. And maybe they’re also covering up some shenanigans as well.

There have been reports of workers suffering from ailments attributed to exposure to the oil and/or chemicals and of sand being dumped on the beaches to cover up tar balls. But getting an accurate picture of what is going on is impossible with the government’s restrictions.

Transparency: Report Reveals Gulf Cleanup Deception and Incompetence, Not Necessarily in That Order

by Doug Powers on Friday, July 2nd, 2010

No wonder the Democrat congressional leadership won’t let some Republicans tap their member accounts to take trips to the Gulf region to observe the cleanup effort:

(CNSNews.com) – Billy Nungesser, president of New Orleans’ Plaquemines Parish, sensed that a chart showing 140 oil skimmers at work — a chart given to him by BP and the Coast Guard — was “somewhat inaccurate.” So, Nungesser asked to fly over the spill to verify the number.

The flyover was cancelled three times before those officials admitted that just 31 of the 140 skimmers were actually deployed.

The incident is detailed in a report released Thursday by Republicans on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Republicans say the report provides evidence that the Obama administration misrepresented the assets devoted to the cleanup, misrepresented the timing of when government officials knew there was an oil spill and misrepresented the level of control the government had over the matter. It also claims the Obama administration seemed more interested in public relations than cleaning the mess and plugging the hole.

If the Obama administration is only interested in “public relations,” they have a strange way of showing it: Vacations, golf, more golf, super soaker fights, more golf, beer pong, a McCartney concert (I was certain singing Hey Jude would plug the hole), etc. Sure, there was that brief alleged search for an “ass to kick,” but that went away as fast as Hillary’s southern accent when she’s flying northbound across the Mason-Dixon line.

Nungesser, you may recall, was one of the parish presidents who waited three hours to meet with Joe Biden and ended up seeing him for 30 seconds. Prior to that, Nungesser said that President Obama “chewed him out” during one visit to the Gulf.

Findings from the report:

Committee staff has discovered the following based upon witness interviews and documents provided by federal and state entities:

• Officials on the ground dispute key White House assertions about the number and timeliness of assets deployed in the Gulf. Local officials describe White House outreach efforts as more focused on stopping bad press than on addressing the disaster at hand;
• The White House’s assurances that there are adequate resources are at odds with the reality on the ground, where those on the frontline of the spill express significant frustration over the lack of assets. Local complaints are supported by the fact that the White House waited until Day 70 of the oil spill to accept critical offers of international assistance. Local workers and boats could have been assisting more with the clean-up if the Federal government had provided them with needed supplies and equipment;
• While the White House has tried to use the delay in finding a visible leak to explain its early silence on the oil spill, Transocean officials and Coast Guard documents from the scene of the oil spill reveal clear and early indications of a substantial oil leak days earlier than White House accounts;
• The failure of Administration officials to quickly waive laws preventing necessary foreign assets from reaching the Gulf and other regulations are hampering efforts to clean-up and limit damage from the oil spill. Local officials feel the federal government is making the perfect the enemy of the good in cleanup efforts;
• Local officials strongly dispute President Obama’s insistence that the federal government – and not BP – has been in control since day one. One Coast Guard Admiral told congressional investigators that decisions on the ground are made through a “consensus-based” process with BP. In practice, the Federal Government is not in charge of oil spill response efforts through a command-and-control approach;
• Local officials strongly believe the President’s call for a drilling moratorium will significantly compound the economic damage caused by the oil spill and will actually increase risk associated with future offshore drilling projects.
[...]
The White House blog details a number of assets deployed in the region to combat the spill. This includes vessels, boom, and dispersant. The number of assets claimed, however, does not appear to match what is actually in the field. Parish officials maintain that the thousands of vessels cited in the blog are non-existent. One senior official refers to them as “phantom assets.” When asked to elaborate, he explained that when he asks the federal government to provide the location of its assets, it either refuses or cannot do so. Daily helicopter search grids performed by the Parish sheriff’s department confirm to him that very few of the assets claimed are deployed.

Viva la transparency!

Some theorize that the Obama administration is hoarding the containment boom so they can put it around Joe Biden, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi’s mouths to avert a looming disaster, but it’s far too late.

Oil Spill of Illegal Immigration

by American Grams on Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

For over 2 months we have had an out-of-control oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  Despite all efforts, the hole has not been plugged and oil continues to pour out into the gulf at an alarming rate.  The Gulf States are being destroyed economically as well as environmentally.

For several decades we have had out-of-control illegal immigration.  The Border States have been begging for assistance in stopping this invasion from the south but illegals, drug lords, human smugglers and anything else can pass freely through the border.  The Border States are being destroyed economically and environmentally.

What to these two problems have in common?  You cannot address the consequences and start the cleanup until you plug the hole – one being the drilling hole and the other an open border.

The Obama administration and Janet Napolitano want you to believe that both situations are “under control.”  Evidence proves otherwise.

In the CNSNews.com Article:  Napolitano: ‘You’re Never Going to Totally Seal That Border’ Napolitano was quoted as saying; “It’s a big border,” she said. “It’s 1,960 miles across that Southwest border.  It’s some of the roughest, toughest geographical terrain in the world across that border.  And so, the notion that you’re going to seal that border somehow is something that anybody who’s been involved in the actual doing of law enforcement–the front office work or the front line work of the law enforcement–would say, ‘You’re never going to totally seal that border.’”

So their answer is what – do nothing?

The states cannot continue to wait while the federal government does nothing.  So Alabama, Louisiana and Arizona have taken action to protect their state and citizens from the impending disaster.

Crime inc ~ RICO Investigation Needed NOW about Gulf, Energy & CCX

by Greg Hedgepath on Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Crime Inc

I have been following the Crime Inc story since Glenn Beck broke it in April.  I am the guy that found the Joel Rogers video where he claims we can stop the economy and it would not change a thing.  I had to document that fact here.  I just hope it helps stop the Crap and Trade bill.  I have found that I am not alone in this quest to stop the theft of liberty from my generation and all future generations.

The following  people I will mention have been giving no less than 8 hours a day to the effort.    And I am sure this is on top of the 8 hours they already have to work to pay the bills.  I too put in any where form 6 to 18 hours daily digging for the connections.  Most of my time is spent listening to audio tracks and videos form leftist tools like Bill Ayres, Cynthia McKinney and even Andy Stern.  Anything I can find from the late 70s and early 80s particularly.   Not much there but 1 or 2 gems so far.  Anyway I was not this person until this past election.  It is best stated in the letter below who I am and How I got here.

You could say I have been FUNDAMENTALLY changed into an activist for the Constitution.  God knows our current administration is a clear and present danger to our constitution and needs to be exposed indicted and imprisoned for using the constitution as toilet paper.

The other people that have taken this thing apart is JoAnne Mor.  She has probably done more homework than Glenn Becks whole staff has done.  Kudos JoAnne!

Another person that deserves recognition at least from me is Trevor Louden.  Trevor has been all over the Obama Radicals since before the election

Canada Free Press has been all over this story and has done a remarkable job uncovering the truth also.

Cap & Trade – Saving the Planet at Whose Expense?

by American Grams on Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Everyone is aware of the democrats’ bill to take over health care, but there has been little attention given to another government take over – Cap & Trade.

I read some of this massive bill and found hundreds of pages dedicated to dictating what types of light bulbs will be available for use.  Naturally, certain areas would be exempt from these mandates, including Las Vegas and California – I wonder who represents those states!  Not quite understanding what all the fuss was over light bulbs I started speaking with others and was amazed at what I learned.

The new energy efficient light bulbs (CFL’s) contain mercury, which makes them hazardous waste.  Along with this comes special handling when replacing bulbs, disposing of bulbs and if a bulb breaks.  If you do not have recycling options for CFL’s then you will have to seal the bulb in two plastic bags and put them in the outside trash.  I spoke with someone who works for an electric company and he told me that the bulbs cost about $15 each to dispose of.

Beware if you break one of these bulbs, because of the mercury the EPA has issued recommendations for cleanup and disposal.  These recommendations include opening windows, shutting of central heat or air and leaving the room for 15 minutes or more.  All broken pieces need to be scooped up using cardboard and placed in a glass container with a metal lid or sealed plastic bag.  Then use duct tape to pick up any remaining pieces.  If the breakage was on carpet you can vacuum after following the instructions above and then you must remove the vacuum bag and put that in a sealed plastic bag.  If clothing or bedding is affected, they recommend throwing it away because washing the clothing or bedding may contaminate your washing machine and pollute sewage.  This is all because of the mercury in the bulbs.  They also recommend the next several times you vacuum that you shut off the heating or air conditioning and open a window before vacuuming and keep it off for at least 15 minutes after vacuuming is complete.

So the bill to “help” the environment and reduce greenhouse gases would mandate that we use hazardous light bulbs that obviously pose a health risk, a contamination problem and a possible pollution problem.

I also discovered the bill will permit government officials to enter your home and evaluate and rate how energy efficient your home is.  The bill requires new buildings to be more energy efficient by 30% by 2012 and 50% more efficient by 2016.  For new construction these new energy guidelines can be included, at an increase cost to the home.  So while the housing industry is already in trouble the government is going to “help” by putting more mandates and controls on the industry.

But, we cannot forget about all the buildings, commercial and housing, already in existence.  They will also have to meet these new standards; otherwise you may not be able to sell your home.  Under these new requirements, a government auditor will be allowed to enter your home and inspect your windows, appliances, air conditioning, furnace and anything else to make sure your house meets these new national building codes.  Not only can they inspect it, but they will be able to mandate that you provide the necessary remedies within a specified amount of time regardless of the cost.  They are going to make funding available to help retrofit these homes in the form of loans, but this funding cannot exceed 50% of the actual costs incurred.
