Barbara Boxer tries to sound hip, fails miserably

by Doug Powers on Sunday, May 4th, 2014

This is article 181 of 191 in the topic Government Regulations

Get Sen. Barbara Boxer out of her only area of expertise, which is promoting the killing of the unborn, and she’s even more of an embarrassment than usual:

As for her whining about a “living wage for all,” you can apply for an unpaid internship to work in Boxer’s office here. Nope, you won’t even get “50 cent” for your efforts, even though they were a good “singing group,” or something.

Barbara Boxer: Let’s Crush Even More Entry Level Jobs

by Doug Powers on Tuesday, August 27th, 2013

This is article 161 of 191 in the topic Government Regulations

Full time hiring is dying thanks to Obamacare and other factors, and the jobs “created” the administration keeps touting are mostly part-time jobs that people have two and three of each these days because of the economy. And now Barbara Boxer wants to kill those jobs off:

Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Monday night she wants the minimum wage increased to $10, a nearly $3 boost from its current level of $7.25.

“I think about $10. I think that would be right,” Boxer said in an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Ed Show.”

Boxer said that a boost to the minimum wage would “make a huge difference.”

“People are struggling,” she said. “The difference between the very wealthy and the working poor has grown.”

Why not just make the minimum wage $100 an hour and really close the gap between rich and poor?

What an idiot.

This is article 108 of 166 in the topic Racism

With the indictment, conviction and sentencing of Jesse Jackson, Jr., we are once again reminded that there is no reason, other than political correctness, that the Congressional Black Caucus should exist within an American institution.

  1. Many members are openly racist – existing only to promote the aspirations of blacks over others in American society, certainly not favoring the U.S. Constitution and equality under the law.
  2. Many members are supportive of an anti-America, anti-White, pro-socialist viewpoint – serving as representatives of a fifth column serving international socialism.
  3. Many members are disproportionately corrupt. According to statistics, “In 2009, all eight lawmakers under ethics investigation were African-American.”
  4. Many members include some of the most ignorant, unprepared and moronic people in Congress, and were it not for their special interest supporters and gerrymandered districts, would not be in Congress at all. I use as a measuring stick, the arguably most ignorant member of Congress, my California Senator Barbara Boxer. Consider Congressman Hank Johnson from Georgia who worried that too many Navy personnel based on Guam might cause it to tip over. In a Congressional hearing with Admiral Robert Willard, head of the U.S. Pacific Command, Johnson opined “that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.”
  5. Had there been a Congressional “White Caucus” the charges of racism would be flying and the press would be in a state of high dudgeon.

A prime example of my disdain for the Congressional Black Caucus can be found in Representative Maxine Waters – who somehow managed to slip the bounds of the ethics committee when she, as a member of Barney Frank’s House Finance Services Committee, put forth efforts to obtain special consideration for a financial institution associated with her husband. Coincidently, it was Barney Frank who helped bring down the Government Sponsored Entities which were the proximate cause of the financial institution’s troubles.

Bottom line …

Perhaps, what irks me the most is the CBC member’s sense of entitlement – as if they should be elevated to the Parthenon and allowed to indulge in their petty corruptions as if somehow we should excuse that behavior because white politicians have been getting away with the same corruption for years. And, while that may have been true – or is still true, I prefer that honest people represent “We the People.” As my Mother taught: two wrongs do not make a right and you don’t excuse bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior.

Ask yourself, how do these people suddenly get wealthy without working in the private sector? How do they account for the fact that members of Congress have exempted themselves from the very laws which would send ordinary people to jail for trading on insider information? Our America is in rapid decline – and it appears that it is driven by corrupt politicians and their special interests.

Don’t get me wrong, I think all of the special interest caucuses should be disbanded. Members of Congress no longer work for ALL constituents, only those constituents who can provide campaign funding, special perks and privileges and the causes that turn out voters.

Time to throw the bums and their organizations out.

This is article 108 of 201 in the topic Liberalism

by Burt Prelutsky

If you have decided along the way that I despise liberals, it merely proves that you’ve been paying attention. I don’t just think they’re misguided or that they have a different take on the issues than I have, I believe they are evil. I believe that if they had their way, America would be a third world nation.

I think they lie, partly out of habit and partly because they know that the equally evil media will aid and abet them by providing cover and by churning out propaganda.

For instance, when some flabby-brained weasel like Barbara Boxer, Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi, claims that Republicans don’t care about the plight of old people and would love to just push them off the edges of cliffs, the way they illustrated conservative objections to ObamaCare in their TV ads, does anyone take them seriously? Even their fellow left-wingers must know better, but they belong to a cult that demands total fealty. Catholics will doubt the Pope’s infallibility sooner than liberals will doubt Obama’s. On the Left, you either fall into line or you stand condemned for heresy.

In a recent article, I questioned the wisdom of the 19th Amendment, the one that gave women the vote in 1920. Insisting that women just aren’t very good when it comes to voting shouldn’t be taken for misogyny, any more than saying that most men tend to get tongue-tied when trying to express their emotions should be regarded as my clumsy attempt to appear even-handed .

In spite of what the feminists say, the genders are not the same; each has its strengths and its weaknesses. The proof in this case is not in the pudding, but in the voting. Consider that starting with the 1980 presidential election, women gave Reagan only a 1% advantage over Carter. That’s Jimmy Carter, for heaven’s sake! In 1988, proving that it wasn’t a fluke, the ladies gave Bush a mere 1% edge over Dukakis. That’s Michael Dukakis, for heaven’s sake!

After that, things only got worse. In the next five elections, they not only helped to elect Clinton twice, but they voted overwhelmingly for Gore, Kerry and Obama.

If a major league baseball player struck out that many times, he’d be on the next bus to Trenton or Wilkes-Barre.

One of the most annoying things about this election is that people keep asking the candidates what they’ll do to create jobs. The problem is that the only way the federal government can create jobs is by hiring more bureaucrats, which is the last thing any sane person wants to see. The job of the president is to create an environment in which entrepreneurs and small businesses can flourish. That means you cut the tax rate and you get rid of stupid, power-grabbing, regulators, like the storm troopers at the EPA, and you take the jackboot of the federal government off the necks of those driven to succeed and get wealthy. Prosperity is the greatest engine for job creation and it’s the only way that a $16 trillion national debt won’t sooner, rather than later, turn us into Greece.

Barbara Boxer: GOP Bill Would Kill 8,100 Americans

by Doug Powers on Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

This is article 9 of 10 in the topic American Dream

Since Barbara “don’t call me ma’am” Boxer seems to have the exact number nailed down, perhaps she can tell us exactly who these people are so we can warn them:

California Democrat Sen. Barbara Boxer said on Tuesday that House Republicans will kill 8,100 Americans with the latest version of their payroll tax cut bill.

Speaking on the floor of the Senate, Boxer, the chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, assailed a provision House Republicans attached to their payroll tax-cut bill that would delay boiler regulations the Environmental Protection Agency recently enacted.

“They have attached a poison pill — literally, colleagues — because it will kill 8,100 more people more than would have otherwise been killed from pollution,” Boxer said. “They attach that to the payroll tax cut. So have that for a Christmas gift.”

Maybe the GOP could get Boxer on board if they referred to the hypothesized fatalities as “retroactive abortions.”

Fun fact: Leading scientists theorize that putting Barbara Boxer in the Hadron Collider and turning it on would lead to the discovery of “The Dipshit Particle.”

Barbara Boxer: Climate Deniers Endangering Humankind

by Doug Powers on Friday, December 9th, 2011

This is article 139 of 342 in the topic Global Warming

Not to mention certain stock portfolios

If the world doesn’t stop doubting Al Gore and quickly “green” itself at the bargain price of around $76 trillion, human beings could be extinct. That according to Senator Barbara “don’t call me ‘ma’am’” Boxer.

From The Hill:

nullSenate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) blasted skeptics of climate science Wednesday, alleging they are “endangering humankind.”

“The message I have for climate deniers is this: you are endangering humankind,” Boxer said during a press conference in the Capitol. “It is time for climate deniers to face reality, because the body of evidence is overwhelming and the world’s leading scientists agree.”

Boxer criticized skeptics of climate science, alleging they are standing in the way of significant progress toward lowering greenhouse gas emissions both domestically and internationally.

Did the Senator who has an A+ rating from NARAL just accuse those who refuse to chug from Al Gore’s global warming Kool-Aid bong of being a threat the lives of human beings?

What most worries Boxer about global warming skeptics isn’t that they’re endangering humankind, but rather a grave threat to the circle of crony life in the age of “green” venture socialism.

Whither Barbara Boxer’s Outrage Over Gasoline Prices?

by John Lillpop on Saturday, January 15th, 2011

This is article 21 of 75 in the topic Oil Industry/OPEC

Has anyone noticed that gasoline prices have exploded and regular unleaded is now over $3.00 a gallon?.

Oil is nearing $100 a barrel, so $4 dollar a gallon is inevitable!

So where in Hades is Barbara Boxer? Why is she not raising bloody hell and demanding an investigation into this gouging of the American people?

Back in 2004, Mrs. Boxer saw fit to assail big oil, President George W. Bush, and all Republicans because unleaded gasoline was priced at $2.11 a gallon.

$2.11 a gallon? According to this arrogant lefty, that was the work of evil capitalists.

As reported, in part, at (link):

“Thursday, March 11, 2004

“Washington, D.C.- U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) today met with Federal Trade Commission Chairman Timothy Muris to discuss the sharp rise in gasoline prices in California.

“On February 24, 2004, Boxer sent a letter to Chairman Muris asking him to investigate the rise in gasoline prices for possible market manipulation. At that time, California gasoline prices had increased 16.1 cents in a week, compared to 4 cents nationally.

“As of Wednesday, March 10, the average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline in California is $2.11 per gallon, compared to $1.82 a month ago.

“The following are excerpts of Senator Boxer’s remarks following her meeting:

“The FTC agrees that there is an anomaly in California prices. In English, that means that the prices are going up faster than the factors that FTC uses to predict normal prices would indicate.

They (FTC) have started an informal investigation, which pleases me very much. Why have they done this? Because so far they cannot explain this phenomenon.

Right now they are in the early stages of this informal investigation, and I am today urging people in California to please contact us, or contact the FTC, or contact California Attorney General Bill Lockyer, and please let us know if there is any reason to believe that refineries are being taken off line unnecessarily, or there is collusion going on in any way.

“Of course I want a full blown investigation, I want a formal investigation- but I’m here to say that the FTC is in the process of an informal investigation, and to me there is a lot of hope that they have found this to be an anomaly.”

So where is Senator Boxer now that gas is over $3 a gallon and headed to $4 a gallon under Barack Obama?

When you begin your investigation, Senator, please note the photograph of President Obama bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia.

Not sure if the photo it is relevant, but we are counting on you to investigate this outrageous gouging of We little people, even if your investigation leads to the Oval Office!

Ten most corrupt politicians of 2010

by Jim Kouri on Friday, December 17th, 2010

This is article 54 of 471 in the topic Government Corruption

While making a big deal out of his being censured, Rangel escaped any real punishment. Photo: NY Daily News

It’s that time of the year when numerous organizations and news outlets publish or announce their “Best of…” or “Worst of…” or “Most important of…” or “Most popular of…” lists. Not to be outdone by the so-called elite media, below is a list from an industrious public-interest group whose sole mission is to investigate and prosecute government corruption wherever it is discovered.

On Thursday, Judicial Watch released its 2010 list of Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians.” While there may be some surprises, readers will note that neither political party has a monopoly on political corruption. Special thanks to Judicial Watch’s Jill Farrell for providing the Law Enforcement Examiner with a comprehensive list of men and women deserving of recognition for their corrupt ways or illegal activities.
The list, in alphabetical order, includes: Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Rahm Emanuel, Former Obama White House Chief of Staff, Senator John Ensign (R-NV), Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL), President Barack Obama, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY), Rep. Hal Rogers (R-KY), and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA).

Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) is Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Ethics. But it appears she still needs an ethics lesson. Boxer presided over a year-long investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee into whether two of her Senate colleagues, Christopher Dodd (D-CT) and Kent Conrad (D-ND), received preferential treatment from Countrywide Financial as part of the company’s “VIP” program. (Senate ethics rules prohibit members from receiving loan terms not available to the general public.) In fact, according to The Associated Press, during an Ethics Committee hearing Boxer asked “the bulk of the questions.”

However, Boxer failed to mention (or disclose on her official Senate Financial Disclosure documents) that she and her husband have signed no less than seven mortgages with Countrywide. At the time of the hearing, Boxer reportedly indicated she had paid off two Countrywide mortgages, but did not mention the others.

The evidence clearly showed that Dodd and Conrad knew they were receiving preferential treatment despite repeated denials. Yet Boxer’s Senate Ethics Committee allowed Dodd and Conrad to wiggle off the hook with a light admonition that suggested the two Senators should have exercised better judgment. The same, apparently, can be said of the Committee’s own chair, who either neglected to mention or outright lied about her own dealings with the corrupt mortgage company.

Rahm Emanuel, Former Obama White House Chief of Staff didn’t earn the nickname “Rahmbo” for being a mild-mannered shrinking violet. He served as Bill Clinton’s chief money-man at a time when the Clinton campaign was corrupted by foreign money. He defended the “worst of the worst” Clinton scandals, and, in fact, earned his reputation as a ruthless political combatant by fiercely defending President Clinton in the Monica Lewinsky investigation.

Senate GOP calls for probe of Carol Browner

by Michelle Malkin on Saturday, November 13th, 2010

This is article 22 of 471 in the topic Government Corruption

The Senate Republicans on the Committee on Environment and Public Works have called on chairwoman Barbara Boxer to hold hearings on Browner’s data doctoring.

Time for Transparency with Browner, Architect of Cap-And-Trade Agenda

Washington, D.C.-Senators James Inhofe (R-Okla.), John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), and David Vitter (R-La.), Republican Members of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, demanded openness and accountability from Carol Browner, the President’s top climate change policy official, and architect of the Obama cap-and-trade agenda.

Inhofe, Barrasso, and Vitter called on EPW Chairman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) to hold a hearing on findings by the Interior Department’s Inspector General that an official in Browner’s office edited the Interior Department’s report on the Obama Administration’s Gulf drilling moratorium. The official edited the report to say that independent scientists who reviewed it agreed with the moratorium when in fact they did not.

In 2008, Sen. Boxer convened a hearing examining allegations that Bush White House officials interfered with decisions at the Environmental Protection Agency and the Center for Disease Control. Senators Inhofe, Barrasso, and Vitter strongly urge Sen. Boxer to pursue similar oversight of Carol Browner and her staff.

Sen. Barrasso, Ranking Member of the EPW Subcommittee on Oversight:

“Under Carol Browner’s watch, politics is trumping science. Congress must investigate the editing of scientific reports and secret meetings where nothing was put into writing. As the Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Oversight, I will demand that hearings be held immediately. This ‘Czar’ should be accountable to the people, not the other way around.”

Sen. Inhofe, Ranking Member of the EPW Committee:

“For two years, Democrats refused to conduct oversight of the Obama Administration, while congratulating themselves this Administration would be different-that it would be open, transparent, and rely on the best available science. Yet we know otherwise: conducting negotiations on global warming regulations in secret, hiding the costs of its green jobs program, and now a sensitive report on the drilling moratorium manipulated to achieve political ends. This is all part of the Administration’s cap-and-trade agenda, designed to raise energy prices for consumers and destroy jobs. It’s time the American people fully understand what the architect of that agenda, Carol Browner, is doing with taxpayer dollars. To help with that, Sen. Boxer should conduct real oversight.”

Sen. Vitter, Ranking Member of the EPW Subcommittee on Clean Air and Nuclear Safety:

“This blatant disregard by Administration officials to push their job-crushing moratorium on the people of the Gulf Coast absolutely must be further investigated. The IG report that I requested in June and that was released this week revealed that the recommendations to move forward with the moratorium were directed by politics-not science or expertise. The Administration should explain themselves before Congress so the thousands of impacted Louisianians can hear why politics was put before their best interests.”

Time to Retire California’s Boxer and Nevada’s Ex-Boxer!

by John Lillpop on Monday, November 1st, 2010

This is article 44 of 377 in the topic Elections

Two of the most dangerous liberal politicians in the U.S. Senate have been in Washington, D.C. for far too long for the good of the American people.

That would be 70-somethings Barbara Boxer(D-California) and Harry Reid(D-Nevada).

Boxer has haunted the Senate since 1992, an 18-year period during which she has displayed an insufferable arrogance and abrasiveness that makes her among the least respected senators on either side of the aisle. Boxer’s polarizing personality is so repellent that even the liberal San Francisco Chronicle refused to endorse her candidacy this Fall.

Boxer’s infamous, “Don’t call me madam!” dressing-down of Brig. Gen. Michael Walsh of the Army Corps of Engineers reflected perfectly her liberal contempt for the armed forces and has been fodder for one of the most hilarious ads of the season.

Clearly, it is way past time for voters to take away Boxer’s “Senator” title and award same to a responsible, pro-business professional like Carly Fiorina!

In Nevada, Harry Reid has tortured the good people of this state since 1983 when he first sworn in to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Reid’s misbehavior escalated in 1987 when he was sent to Washington as a U.S. Senator from Nevada.

Reid’s disgraceful behavior while senator includes his misinformed, unpatriotic declaration that, “The war is lost,” while opposing the “surge” which ultimately won the day in Iraq.

Reid added to his contemptible lack of patriotic spirit by proudly declaring, “We killed the Patriot Act,” in 2006, a statement which was reversed at the Patriot Act was in fact ultimately approved.

Just as Barbara Boxer needs to be removed from the U.S. Senate for the good of the nation, so it is the same with the pathetic Harry Reid.

Best choice in California is Carly Fiorina and in Nevada the only choice that makes sense is Sharron Angle!

Be guided on November 2!
