If it wasn’t so tragic it would be hilarious watching Greece collapse under the weight of their own undoing. Socialism is a bitch. When over 60% of the slaves work for their government master, where exactly is the money going to come from? I guess from a fantasy world where tourism pays you to do nothing.

Greece is a cautionary tale for America. The Heritage Foundation reports that 50% in the U.S. do not pay a single dime into the system. One in five Americans rely on a government handout for food, housing, education, etc. 67.3 million Americans receive subsidies from Washington.

What happens when the United States finances hits the fan? Dependency on the government cannot be sustained. Nor should it be tolerated. Unfortunately our incompetent statist DC leaders like it this way.

I have a glimmer of hope that the people of this country are waking up to the tyranny of the U.S. federal government. Obamacare contraception mandates have woken the 70 million Catholics along with millions of other Christians. The NDAA has stirred many state legislatures into action to stop federal over-reach. Even the FAA funding bill has passed the Senate with a measure to allow airports to replace the TSA gropers and thieves.

Freedom of Religion

It’s nice to see Catholics waking up after their implicit support of Obama in 2008. Tea Partiers and constitutionalists tried to get them to wake up when Obamacare was being debated and ultimately passed. Better late than never. As the Heritage Foundation reported today:

Yesterday, the head of the Catholic League, Bill Donohue, warned that the nation’s 70 million Catholics are ready to go to war with the Administration’s dictates, saying “Never before, unprecedented in American history, for the federal government to line up against the Roman Catholic Church. This is going to be fought out with lawsuits, with court decisions, and, dare I say it, maybe even in the streets.”

You can bet that the Anglicans, Lutherans, Baptists, Jews, among others, are right there with them. It is truly the sleeping giant that has been awakened. Bearing the full force of worldwide support and money, this coalition has the power and clout to make the U.S. government miserable in the courts, at the voting booth and in the streets. You think the Tea Party was noisy and effective? They all belong to one of these churches. And they are bringing their friends.

States Defending the Constitution

And of course the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) codified indefinite detention of U.S. citizens. Hell, even the ACLU says as much. Bad legislation makes for strange bed fellows I suppose.

Well thankfully the states are defending the constitution. Tenth Amendment Center reports that Virginia was the first out of the gate last week with House Bill 1160:

“Prevents any agency, political subdivision, employee, or member of the military of Virginia from assisting an agency or the armed forces of the United States in the investigation, prosecution, or detainment of a United States citizen in violation of the Constitution of Virginia.”

Today the Tenth Amendment Center sent out an alert indicating that a similar bill, HB1629 and SB2669, is working its way through the House in Tennessee.

The legislation would effectively nullify the detention provisions in the NDAA and would also require federal agents making an arrest in the Volunteer State for any reason to first obtain written permission from the county sheriff.

Oklahoma is also moving legislation to stop the federal government tyranny.

It’s about time the states stared protecting us from the imperial federal government.

TSA Days of Groping and Thieving Could Be Over

I was also happy to see that embedded in the latest FAA funding bill was a provision that would force the TSA to reconsider applications from airports to replace TSA workers with their own privately hired screeners.

No, the TSA wouldn’t be disbanded which would be the optimal solution, but at least going through airport security you wouldn’t have to worry about sexual misconduct and theft of your possessions.

Administrators, teachers and parents of a high school in Washington State should be so proud of the young citizens they are leading into adulthood. They apparently know nothing about the country they are inheriting.

This video was created by one of its students. Basic civics questions were asked. The answers some of these students gave have to be heard to be believed. You might be shocked to know one genius believes Bin Laden to be our Vice President. Or maybe not. This is government education.

It is no wonder this country is in such dire straits. No wonder the government has no fear of its people. They do not know a thing about what makes this country free. They do not know about liberty. Bet every single one of these kids could tell you the starting quarterbacks for the Stupid Bowl but could not tell you who we fought for our independence.

This school is definitely not unique. We spend more money on education than any other country on the planet and this is what we get in return. It’s pathetic.

More TSA thefts were reported today as an agent at JFK ripped off $5000 from a Bangladeshi passenger. May as well change the name of this disgusting agency to Thieving Security Assholes. Let’s review:

Last month, an agent who worked searching checked luggage at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport was suspended after the owner of a stolen iPad used the tracking feature on the device to locate it at the agent’s home. Police found seven other iPads there.

Also in January, authorities charged an agent at Miami International Airport with swiping items and luggage and smuggling them out of the airport in a hidden pocket of his work jacket. He was arrested after one of the items, an iPad, was spotted for sale on Craigslist.

Two other former TSA agents at JFK were sentenced on Jan. 10 to six months in jail and five years’ probation for stealing $40,000 from a piece of luggage in January 2011. The agents, Coumar Persad and Davon Webb, had pleaded guilty to grand larceny, obstructing governmental administration and official misconduct.

Last year, a TSA supervisor and one of his officers pleaded guilty in a scheme that lifted $10,000 to $30,000 from passengers’ belongings at Newark Liberty International Airport. A federal judge sentenced the supervisor, Michael Arato, to 2½ years in prison and his subordinate, Al Raimi, to six months of home confinement.

It’s not enough that we have to endure the liberty neutering regulations when trying to fly in an airplane, but now we have to worry that the people we are supposedly entrusting with our safety is also ripping us off in the process.

Granted this is a small, tiny even, percentage of idiots stealing from passengers, given the size of this agency. Still doesn’t make me comfortable knowing that while I am at the mercy of their herd control measures I also have to worry that they are stealing my luggage as a bonus.

Chris Rock is the latest celebutard to come out in favor of raising taxes “on the rich”. Other worldly notables that want to provide the government with more money include: Ron Howard, Jane Lynch, Russell Simmons and Matt Damon among others. Of course no list is complete without including Warren Buffett among those that want to be generous with their money to the government.

Look, if you feel like you haven’t given enough of your treasure to the government then by all means stop hiring tax attorneys and accountants, stop taking deductions and simply write a fat check to the Treasury with your 1040EZ form.

I am sure that these elitists can “afford to pay more”. That is not the point.

The point is that the government does not deserve another single penny until spending is under control. The point is that the tax system sucks and needs to be flatter and simpler.

See what will happen is that the idiots in Congress will raise, say the capital gains tax from 15% to 30%. Fine. Warren Buffett will be ecstatic. I won’t be. I invest in stocks which I benefit from a low capital gains rate just like Buffett. But the idiots in Congress likely won’t make that distinction.

I find it reprehensible that these people would prefer to pay into the liberal’s collective wallet than make those contributions to worthwhile charities. It would be more impressive if they would say “hey feds, you know if you would just reduce taxes then I would love to contribute (more?) money to charities.” Nah, a liberal’s favorite charity is funding class warfare.

Yep, this country is deep in debt. I would be more inclined to listen to the leftists talk about paying more taxes if there was any seriousness in reigning in the debt. WTH should anyone give more to a government that cannot control its spending?

How about you celebs talk about the government balancing the budget THEN suggest that taxes need to be reformed so it is fair for everyone?

Until then, by all means write a check to the U.S. Treasury if it helps assuage your liberal guilt.

Phil Valentine is a syndicated conservative radio personality that is based out of Nashville, Tennessee. For the last couple of years listeners have been regaled with tales of some mystical movie that he has been working on about climate change.

After spending months trying to get someone to distribute the movie, he finally succeeded and was able to get the movie shown on the largest theater in Tennessee. Apparently movie distributors do not want to do business with conservative material. Shocking, I know. If the movie does well in Nashville then he has a chance of it going on a much broader national scale.

The movie opened this weekend and from what I can tell is doing quite well. The wife and I saw it just this afternoon at the 2:50 matinee and it was packed with an eager crowd.

I hope you get a chance to one day see this movie. It completely debunks all the climate change bullshit that the leftists shovel in their warped view of environmental change and global control.

The movie shows Al Gore appearing before a Congressional committee to discuss his desire to control CO2 emissions while taking apart his thin argument fact by fact as Phil interviews experts in the field of climatology.

The film is not just a boring bludgeoning of hard facts. It is also entertaining to watch Phil take to the street to interview people on their knowledge of CO2 and climate change. Government education and indoctrination never looked so painful. He is also filmed trying to get an interview with the Goracle himself. These personal interactions can be quite funny as Phil has a great on-screen personality.

I encourage anyone that thinks that Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth to be the last word on climate change to go see An Inconsistent Truth. You owe to yourself to get both sides of the argument and decide which one seems more plausible to you.

As a conservative, I urge you to see the Goracle’s movie first, then see Phil’s movie. Whether you are a leftist or not. I am not afraid of the facts as presented in Phil’s movie as a complete dismissal of the lies and deceit in Gore’s movie. I doubt very much a liberal would suggest you see Phil’s movie. Climate change is a necessary component of their desire to redistribute wealth and control human existence.

This was easily one of the best documentaries I’ve seen. I was proud to support Uncle Phil in the release and urge you to see it if it makes it to your city.

I believe this country is in trouble economically, socially and politically. That is no secret. The question is what to do about it. I have been hoarding gold, silver, food, water, guns and bullets. Big deal. Prudent people have enough food and water on hand to get through any emergencies that come what may. Prudent people save their money and diversify. Prudent people protect their family and property.

There used to be a time, not too long ago actually, when people in this country were Pioneers. They lived off the land, grew their own food, built their own shelters, cut their own wood, hunted and fished. They were self sufficient. They hoarded food by necessity. My grandparents shopped sparingly at the grocery store once a month. They canned food. Had a couple of deep freezers full of frozen treats. The grew a lovely garden and had half ownership of a farm.

There are some people who are returning to that life of self-sufficiency. Some never left. These folks will be perfectly fine if a financial collapse cometh.

Then you have the zombies. The people that you will be shooting in the face off your front doorstep as they are scrounging for food. These folks buy just enough to get them through the next pay check. They eat out virtually every meal. They are screwed because they believe the system, the government, will take care of them.

Then, of course, you have those that are losing their minds. I enjoy reading “prepper” blogs. They are vastly entertaining for the fantasy life many engage in writing about. Understand that I believe in preparation. What I don’t care to involve myself in is Mad Max apocalyptic fantasies. Have you read “The Road”? Not pleasant. Denzel Washington is cool as hell in “The Book of Eli”. Your post-apocalyptic life won’t be nearly as awesome.

Preppers talk about “bugging out”. Sounds great until you think….where? OK, sure if I lived in an urban cesspool then I would be thinking about where to go and how to get there in the event of mob rule. Which I don’t discount is coming. Thing is, if you live in the city then you are most likely already a zombie and will be roving around until you get to my front doorstep upon which I’ll have to shoot you in the face.

Preppers talk about all the things they need to survive. The list of items they think they must have to survive when the SHTF. Well, from what I’ve read you’d need a house to store it all in. Are you going to put three rooms worth of survival gear on your back or stuffed in your car? Get real.

Some have a groovy cabin in the middle of nowhere. Great if you live out West. Maybe the roads won’t be too crowded on your pilgrimage to your hideout. If you’re East of the Mississippi then I wonder how you are going get to it with the over-crowded roads.

The US economy created no jobs and the unemployment rate held steadily higher at 9.1 percent in August, fueling concerns that the US is heading for another recession.

It was the first time since World War II that the economy had a net zero jobs created for a month.

Didn’t our dear leader say something about a laser focus on jobs? Didn’t our government spend something like a billion dollar to stimulate the economy ostensibly for job creation?

At what point will the Obama Administration get the government out of the way and let the free market economy work?

Their only answer is more government spending and more government meddling. An infrastructure bank. Seriously? How about reform the tax code? How about dump ObamaCare and Dodd-Frank to lessen the burden of regulations on businesses. How about get the damn EPA, HHS and Justice of the backs of Americans and let them get to work and create wealth?

None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Nein. No jobs created in August. That is pathetic.

It’s Bush’s fault right?

Three years in and leftists still blame Bush for all their problems. Fair enough. But if that is the case then they are proving that they are not smart enough to figure out a solution. Next! The Obama administration should simply resign.

The worst President ever.

Jeremey Hill killed a grizzly that wandered onto his property in Idaho. His kids were outside playing. Now the government is going after him for violating the Endangered Species Act.

Apparently the fact that his kids were endangered has no bearing on the common sense of the U.S. Attorney in Idaho who is filing federal charges.

There is not a parent on this planet that would not have put as many holes in the hide of that grizzly to stop it from coming close to their kids. The enviro-wackjobs forget that the grizzly would gladly rip your head off and eat your liver if it thought you were within 20 miles of its cubbies. Apparently human life means so little to the leftist regime that it would be preferable for the grizzly to maul the kids than kill it. Seriously?

After Hill shot and killed the grizzly he called the Idaho Department of Fish and Game which was probably the right thing to do. But I guarantee that the next time something like this happens they won’t be getting a cursory call.

Hill has the support of his two U.S. Senators, Representative and Governor. The Governor even wrote a letter to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar for all the good that will do.

Unfortunately the man will have to endure the cost of a trial which will be a complete waste of time and money. Do you really think a jury of his peers will find the man guilty?

I think the feds are more of a terrorist threat to the citizens of this country than the radical cavemen in the middle east.

Lberals hit the Sunday talk shows doing what they do best – blame someone else for their mess. David Axelrod, John Kerry, et. al. memorized today’s liberal talking points and blamed the Tea Party for the S&P credit downgrade. The downgrade has been a long time coming. Particularly given the proclivities of the statists in both parties in spending tax payers money. Funny thing is if the government had done what the Tea Party said it wanted which is to cut, cap and balance then the S&P downgrade would not have happened. Instead we ended up some mishmash political bullshit agreement that furthers our debt. And we end up with a bunch of liberal whiners mad because it further proves the incompetency of the Obama administration and his minions.

Liberals need to man up. Stop blaming everyone else. It’s pathetic. Nobody trusts them. Nobody believes them. They are losers. They are failing. At least the Republicans are saying that it is the government’s fault. Both sides are to blame (see Paul Ryan on Fox News Sunday today). At least the Tea Party had a plan. At least Paul Ryan had a plan. The Democrats can’t even come up with a budget. Their only plan is raise taxes. Talking point #348 – “shared sacrifice”.

Fuck shared sacrifice. 50% of this country don’t even pay taxes. Let’s broaden the base. Then we can honestly talk about shared sacrifice.

As long as these asshats continue to blame the Tea Party, FOR EVERYTHING!, you have to figure that the movement is scaring the shit of them. It’s a beautiful thing.
