Eric Holder to Testify Before House Committee About Fast & Furious

by Staff on Sunday, October 30th, 2011

This should be interesting:

CBS News has learned Attorney General Eric Holder has agreed to appear before the House Judiciary Committee regarding “Fast and Furious.” The hearing will take place Dec. 8th.

Judiciary Committee member and head of the House Oversight Committee Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) had requested that Holder appear, in part to dig deeper into when-he-knew-what about ATF’s so-called “gunwalking” operation Fast and Furious.

To date, eight Republicans have called for Holder’s resignation.

Predicted first question to Holder on December 8th: “What is your exact definition of ‘a few weeks’?”

Lots of Fast & Furious background here.

#OccupyCentralJeep

by Staff on Sunday, October 30th, 2011

Evil capitalists are now mocking the “Occupy Wall Street” thing to make money. Was it supposed to turn out this way?

Maybe it’s time for the OWS bunch to re-think where this is all headed. Winter’s coming (and the northeast OWSers are getting a big time preview this weekend). What started as a quest to end corporate greed, slow the onslaught of jack-booted capitalism, outlaw the audacity of wanting to keep the fruits of ones labor, and to convince Alec Baldwin to buy them all Che Guevara t-shirts and charge them to his Capital One card is instead being turned into a sales pitch to allow the greedy to make even more money. Worse yet, to make money selling things that are choking Mother Earth with their fumes. OWS endorser and multimillionaire investor Al Gore will not be pleased.

Bill Montgomery’s Press Conference on Illegal Immigration

This is Maricopa County Attorney, Bill Montgomery’s response to Obama’s trip to the Texas border. This is a serious problem and deserves serious solutions, not some sarcastic, joking remarks from Obama. These problems not only affect the border states, but as Bill points out, have an affect across the country. We need border security – NOT AMNESTY!

Obamanomics in just over 1 minute

by Staff on Sunday, January 30th, 2011

Most people have difficulty visualizing the massive amount of debt and spending in the federal government. We all struggle to survive on minimal incomes that the government insists belongs to them.

A student put this video together explaining Obamanomics, in terms that anyone can understand. If $100M represents that piece of the piece, just imagine how little each of us represent!

More spending is a threat to America

by Staff on Monday, January 24th, 2011

This is article 164 of 363 in the topic Government Spending

By Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina)

Reaching the debt ceiling should be a warning bell to Congress that our debt has reached scorching levels. But all Washington politicians want to do is shut off the alarm instead of put out the fire.

The alarms are ringing loudly, and with more frequency, in response to new and expanded entitlement programs, bailouts and Big Government takeovers. Congress has voted to raise the debt ceiling every year since 2002 — and twice in 2008 and 2009.

Raising the debt ceiling yet again without a plan to cut spending would be like putting out a fire with gasoline instead of water. Doing so would allow the government to continue borrowing more to spend more.

It’s time to extinguish this idea. The only way to finally stop increasing the debt is to stop borrowing and spending.

President Barack Obama’s economic aides say failing to raise the debt ceiling will be “catastrophic.” In one sense, they are right. It could be catastrophic to the hundreds of needless and wasteful government programs that rely on trillions of dollars in future borrowing. Most Americans don’t consider that a bad thing.

Other proponents of the increase say Congress must raise the ceiling or risk damaging the “full faith and credit of the United States.” The path we are taking, however, with no plan to reduce the deficit, is already undermining confidence in our country.

The real threat to our full faith and credit is the inevitable collapse that will come if Washington keeps spending more than it can afford. Leading ratings firms Moody’s Investors Service and Standard & Poor’s have issued repeated statements cautioning that the United States could risk losing its triple-A credit rating if actions are not taken to lower its debt ratio.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Michael Mullen has said, “The most significant threat to our national security is our debt.”

Everyone hears the warnings — but few are willing to heed them. The debt is dangerous. Refusing to confront it only makes it more so.

The vote to raise the debt ceiling is a rare occasion on which Congress is forced to reflect on its spending. Republicans should oppose the increase unless Congress first passes a balanced-budget amendment that requires a two-thirds majority to raise taxes. Every state except Vermont is required by law to balance its budget. The federal government must be forced to balance its budget, too.

In the past 10 years, there have been 10 votes to increase the debt ceiling, hundreds of votes to pass new spending programs and no votes on a balanced-budget amendment. If politicians are not obligated to balance the budget, it is certain they will continue adding to the deficit by creating new entitlements, like Obamacare, instead of fixing broken programs, like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

It’s easy to find cuts if members of Congress are willing to look. For example, Congress could save $2.5 trillion over the next 10 years by passing the Spending Reduction Act.

Political Correctness Kills

by Staff on Friday, January 21st, 2011

By Rep. John Carter in the Washington Times

Fourteen Americans died in the terrorist attack at Fort Hood. It could have been prevented had we heeded the glaring warning signs. A thorough congressional investigation may help us identify specific individuals, agencies and policies that contributed to the tragedy, but the ultimate cause of our failure to stop both this attack and the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, is already known.

Political correctness is killing Americans and undermining the national security of the United States.

Americans are good people who have developed a very strong aversion to judging others because of their race, ethnic background, religion or factors other than individual character and conduct. However, our virtue is being used as a powerful weapon against us by political extremists within our country and enemies without.

We must not wrongfully prejudge people. However, we also can no longer refuse to take the steps necessary to defend ourselves, as clearly was the case with the Fort Hood attack. We can’t allow political correctness to intimidate Americans from speaking out against clear and present dangers out of fear they will be ridiculed or penalized for offending any group. We should have learned that lesson in 2001.

Muslim males with ties to radical Islamic groups and persons – including Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki, then of Northern Virginia – rammed airliners into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 2001, killing 2,976 men, women and children.

A Muslim male with ties to radical Islamic groups and persons attempted to bomb a U.S. airliner with a shoe bomb in December 2001.

A Muslim male with ties to radical Islamic groups and persons attacked the Los Angeles airport in July 2002, killing two persons and wounding four.

A Muslim male with ties to radical Islamic groups and persons engaged in a sniping attack with a juvenile accomplice in the Washington area in October 2002, killing 10 and wounding three.

A Muslim male with ties to radical Islamic groups and persons attacked his fellow U.S. Army soldiers in their tents in Kuwait in 2003, killing two and wounding 14 of his own comrades, a foreshadowing of the Fort Hood attack.

Muslim males with ties to radical Islamic groups and individuals attempted to plan the bombing of the Sears Tower in Chicago in August 2006.

Muslim males with ties to radical Islamic groups and persons, including Mr. Al-Awlaki – now in Yemen – plotted in 2006 to attack the Canadian Parliament and other buildings in Toronto.

Muslim males with ties to radical Islamic groups and individuals – including the same Mr. Al-Awlaki in Yemen – were arrested in May 2007 for planning an automatic weapons attack on U.S. soldiers at Fort Dix, N.J.

A Muslim male with ties to radical Islamic groups and persons attacked a U.S. Army recruiting station in Little Rock, Ark., in June, killing two recruiters.

The FBI and the Defense Department were aware that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan was in contact with the same Mr.

Dream Act Amnesty supporters, including the President of Immigration Clearinghouse, have issued a fatwa calling for the murder of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC’s President William Gheen following his appearance on Fox and Friends.

Local police and the FBI have been contacted and reports have been filed concerning these threats and civil rights violations that are coming from Dream Act Amnesty supporters. The Dream Act Amnesty would give legal status, college access, and voting rights to over 2 million illegal aliens.

“I try my best in the national media to represent the 59% of Americans found in certified polls who oppose the Dream Act Amnesty,” said William Gheen President of ALIPAC. “Now I am receiving death threats from Dream Act leaders who are also posting my home address, while encouraging grenade attacks on me because I oppose Amnesty.”

William Gheen appeared on Fox News at 6:15am EST on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. In the interview, Gheen said that the Dream Act Amnesty was a “Political Teddy Bear with a hand grenade in it,” and that passage of the Dream Act Amnesty could eventually lead to “millions of innocent American students, workers, and voters being displaced and replaced by illegal aliens.”

The video of the interview has gone viral on the web and can be viewed at this link…

Mr. Porter Corn, the President of Immigration Clearinghouse, posted the following comments beneath the video accompanied by William Gheen’s home address. Corn later removed the comment when ALIPAC notified activists of the threats but screen shots can be seen in the evidence thread provided here.

“Someone should put a grenade up Willy’s teddy bear ass and pull the pin.” — posted at 8:30pm EST Nov. 30, 2010 on Youtube by Borderbandit54 aka Mr. Porter Corn of Laredo Texas / President of Immigration Clearinghouse.

Mr. Corn refers to William Gheen as “Willy” in his numerous blogs and Internet posts under multiple aliases.

A second threat was posted on the ALIPAC main website the following day on Wed., Dec 1, 2010. The FBI is being asked to investigate the IP address to see if it was made by Porter Corn or another Dream Act Amnesty supporter.

“I agree with Mr Corn, someone should shove a grenade in your fat ass but before that should give a beating for being a racist bastard.Only rednecks like you can spew hate, try that crap in other immigrant friendly states.” posted Wed Dec 01, 2010 12:14 pm at alipac.us by chris198213 chris1982131@hotmail.com IP address 66.220.30.222

Dream Act Amnesty supporters have recently been arrested during protests in or near the offices of members of Congress.
