What a Coincidence: 20% of Latest Batch of Obamacare Waivers are for Restaurants/Hotels in Nancy Pelosi’s District

Last Friday, 221 new Obamacare waivers were handed out. One out of every five of them went to the district of Nancy Pelosi — one of the biggest proponents of how totally awesome and affordable the new health care law would be.

From the Daily Caller:

Of the 204 new Obamacare waivers President Barack Obama’s administration approved in April, 38 are for fancy eateries, hip nightclubs and decadent hotels in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s Northern California district.

That’s in addition to the 27 new waivers for health care or drug companies and the 31 new union waivers Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services approved.

Pelosi’s district secured almost 20 percent of the latest issuance of waivers nationwide, and the companies that won them didn’t have much in common with companies throughout the rest of the country that have received Obamacare waivers.

That might as well say, “SF waiver recipients were hand-picked by Queen Nancy herself!”

Let this be a lesson heading into 2012: If you don’t want laws the Democrats have passed to destroy your business, donate money to Democrats and you might get an exemption.

Pelosi and her husband are invested in a high-end restaurant chain in California called Ristorante Piatti. I haven’t been able to find a waiver connection to them though. Nancy wouldn’t be that ballsy, would she?
