Shotgun preteen vs. Illegal alien Home Invaders…

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11-year-old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their Two-story home. It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay-shooting champion since she was nine.
Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father’s room and grabbed his 12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.
Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old’s knee-crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.
When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.
It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45-caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David 0′Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.

An 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself……against two murderous, illegal immigrants…….and she wins,
She is still alive.

Question, what is the exact model pictured in the story?
My wife is drooling and I always wanted a close quarters shotgun for home defense.

The SUPER-SHORTY is based on a Mossberg Maverick (also available on Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 at additional cost) 12-gauge shotgun which came from the factory with a pistol grip. Because of this, the SUPER-SHORTY is considered an AOW (Any Other Weapon) and can be transferred with a $5 stamp! The gun holds two 2-3/4″ or 3″ shells in the magazine, plus one in the chamber. If you like the idea of concealed carry with a 12-gauge, or like a lot of “bang” in a small package, or just want the most compact breaching weapon available, then this is the gun for you. You won’t find a better made AOW pump shotgun than the SUPER-SHORTY!

I lived in a small town about 150 miles from Butte Montana and i can tell you that this event did happen although it happened many years ago. Like most crime in small town America it never makes the big city paper’s. It was emailed to friends and family and picked up by some small blog site and the word of the event started to get around. Then a progressive web site with it’s main mission in life to hide the truth and promote there progress beliefs, wrote an article saying this crime never happened. So based on that one article write by a person in California this harrowing experience became an urban ledge when in fact it did happen and it is true.
So before you jump to the gun and believe a website look to see if you can find more information and if its only in one place or all roads point to the same source then chances are that source is where the misinformation is coming from.

They were not “illegal immigrants”, they were illegal aliens. They were felons by way of being in our country illegally, thus were fugitive illegal aliens.
Just desserts I would say. I hope that man bought his daughter a new weapon as a reward for following protocol, and defending his castle from would be murderers.
I also shudder to think what they would have done to that little girl, were she not fully armed.

SOunds to me like Ms. Harrington has one heck of an aim and some serious GUTS. I would’ve let my dad train me with firearms, but I wasn’t sure if I was ready at the time and I’m glad he didn’t I’m at a point I’m ready to learn but I’ll probably wait jsut a bit longer. Unless I’m able ot find out what’s taking so long on one aspect that I’m concerned about. I won’t go into details.

Gun Control: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to a police officer how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.
I’m glad this young woman was able to protect herself from some such fate. However, I’m afraid she probably needed a good deal of counseling or some very good and patient and loving parents to get over what she no doubt felt after dispatching these two criminals.

Wow, great story! Hope this 11 year old kid recovers from this horror and goes on to lead a good life. She sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders.
This is another great story of defending life and property because of the Second Amendment.

I am beyond words proud of this young girl, and of her father who had the forethought to teach his child to respect and use the weapons in her own home. I am also heartbroken that she was forced to kill two people at such a tender age. I hope that she recovers psychologically from this and is able to live a full and happy life, leaving the horrors of this behind her.
I know the kids of scars this sort of thing can leave, something similar happened to a friend of mine, and it has taken years for the nightmares to subside.
I could care less where those men were from, because there are American Born Citizens who pull this same kind of home invasion, and deserve the same end. Legal or Illegal, Alien or Citizen. These men were sick and evil, as are all men who would chose harm a child, any child.
I can only hope they chose not to breed first. I think the world could do without their DNA in the gene pool.

I am just adding my kudos to Patricia and my expression of thankfulness to God for keeping her from harm, through her just and lawful use of the means He provided: a tool (her weapon) which like any tool can be used for good or for evil.
I also note that ALL the comments so far, coming from “ordinary” Americans who have common sense, uniformly commend Patricia as well support the unassailable sagacity of the Second Amendment to our nation’s noble constitution.
Armed, we are citizens. Disarmed, we are subjects.

There, the line would read “She quickly ran to her father’s room, located his keys, unlocked the gun cabinet, removed the trigger lock, unlocked the ammo, and loaded the gun. Actually, all she was able to do was to find the keys. Then the victims of society (sometimes called criminals) shot her and stole all of the guns.”

I just read the article and the final part, I thought he was referring to all undocumented immigrants as dangerous criminals or murderers … I have been close to becoming an illegal immigrant by accident, like many I’ve met who work strenuously to support their families, generating good profits for some Americans and the country. I consider it unfair to put them all in the same category

Meh, Killing people iseasy. But then, I am a combat Veteran of OIF. After that first Iraqi bullet buzzed me it became second nature to trigger down on people putting myself of my squad in danger. Can’t imagine what it would be like at 11 though.
A big HOOAH to the girl, the shotgun in the picture while a fun little firearm, is pointless for a HD (home defense) firearm. Consider this, in a HD situation, it will most likely be at night, you will have just woken up and will be “out of it”, you may not be able to put on your glasses as you grab your HD weapon and move to engage your enemy. There is also recoil to consider. My personal HD weapon is a modified Mossberg 500 (Shortened barrel with “standoff” device, pistol grip with expandable stock, mount with light, pump handle replaced by one with a pistol-style foregrip for better control, and ghost ring style sight apatures.) This give you maximum felt-recoil abatement (from the stock and foregrip) control, and the mandatory light for PID (I don’t have children, but damn well don’t want to hit my Lab/PitBull mix as he “introduces” himself to any unwanted guests).
If you really are set on a CCW shotgun, go with the Taurus Judge, or the snubby version “public defender”. It is about the size of a standard J-frame revolver, but can still pack either .45 ACP or 2″ (I think) 410 gauge shells. My personal CCW is an Beretta M9A1 with Crimson Trace grips, polished internals, and a trigger job carried in a Galco summer comfort holster. I love it, but this full sized pistol is a bit hard to conceal for most, but this AOW, at roughly the size of an unloaded MP-5, would be a very awkward carry and would require at least a coat of some sort to conceal.

I made sure that my two children learned how to handle a gun and shot straight. Not only to protect themselves but also to protect me. As hard as I have tried I couldnt shot my way out of a paper bag. But despite my shooting handicaps, I have asked Santa Baby to put a 12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun underneath my Christmas tree. Its a beauty!!! Merry Christmas, everyone. Or should I write Happy Holidays? -so I don’t offend. Nay, for me its Merry Christmas- always and forever.

Well if a little girl can do it, I can too. I have always been afraid of guns but never understood why the government would want to take the guns away from people who wanted them. Thank you little Patricia for showing this old grandpaw that he don’t have to be afraid anymore. I think I will go buy my kids and grandkids a gun for christmas. While I’m at it, I will buy one for myself as well.

There can be no doubt that is one outstanding young lady. Given the circumstances she did exactly the right thing. I just hope her parents and community know enough to make sure they reinforce that with her on a regular basis. She’s going to have nightmares. She’ll probably NEVER forget those two faces. This happened a month ago. I’m sure she’s not over it yet. Still, I have to reiterate again, everyone involved has to reinforce that with her and make sure they give her the details. She doesn’t just need to know that it was the right thing, she needs to know why it was the right thing. It sucks that she had to do that, but there can be no doubt that she HAD to do it.

Mountain Man alluded to the story being old and many kudos to the young lady…if this actually happened. My concern here is the same as what has already been voiced; there is no date of the event and no source given that can be accessed that gives further details.
In other words this story is passed around as truth just as the liberal press passes around their stories as truth without citing sources or dates. Come on people, when we get good ammunition like this to battle the anti-guns idiots we need to do it with sources and quotes that can it establish it as real. Otherwise it’ll get shot down (no pun intended) as another rightist fairy tale and we’ve already gotten a black eye from several of those by well-meaning but misguided fanaticists.
